Vermeer Southeast Sales & Service, Inc, founded in 1967 is a heavy equipment sales and services dealer with locations in Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. VSE is a 100% employee‑owned company.

About the role

The CTE Sales Product Specialist is responsible for growing sales of CTE aerial lift equipment across Georgia and Alabama by building relationships with arborists, landscapers, municipalities, and other customers. This role manages the full sales cycle including prospecting, demos, quoting, and closing while maintaining CRM records, supporting equipment demonstrations, and identifying new business opportunities in the territory.

What you’ll do
  • Promote the CTE aerial lift product line throughout Georgia and Alabama.
  • Build and maintain relationships with arborists, landscapers, municipalities, and other potential customers.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle: prospecting, quoting, product demonstrations, closing, and follow‑up.
  • Work closely with the Sales Support team to ensure accurate quotes, smooth order entry, and CRM updates.
  • Deliver and demonstrate lift equipment on job sites; towing and setting up units as needed.
  • Maintain detailed records of customer activity, leads, and opportunities in the CRM system.
  • Stay informed on product features, specifications, and competitive advantages.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, demonstrations, and industry events.
  • Monitor competitors and share market intelligence with the sales team.
  • Assist the sales team with customer inquiries and provide accurate information about our products and services.
  • Use UCC1's and analyze territory data to support current strategies but create new ideas for growth.
  • Actively seek out new business opportunities and build relationships with potential clients.
  • Develop strategies to grow revenue profitably and expand our customer base.
  • Communicate on a high level with teammates and customers to foster strong relationships and collaboration.
  • Must be able to travel as needed to meet with clients, attend trade shows, and support sales activities.
  • Become knowledgeable on the service side of our equipment, including troubleshooting, and communicating with OEMs regarding problems, concerns, or needs.
  • Maintain service and positive visual image of our equipment and make sure inventory is accurate with products employee is responsible for.
Role‑Specific Expectations
  • Territory Growth: Increase sales volume and brand presence for CTE lifts within the assigned territory.
  • CRM Compliance: All leads and accounts must be entered in the CRM system; deals not tracked properly may affect commission eligibility.
  • Account Coordination: For leads in the tree care or landscaping sectors, coordinate with the appropriate Equipment Sales Rep to ensure account clarity.
  • Demo Logistics: Responsible for prepping, transporting, and delivering demo units to customer sites.
Qualifications Education and Experience
  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
  • Associate degree or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school preferred; or one or more years related experience and/or training.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Basic competence in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to understand, read and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Must be able to multi‑task and be detail oriented with demonstrated follow‑through and organizational skills; demonstrated interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Basic typing and computer skills.
  • Must have (or be willing to attain) a valid CDL Class A license. Knowledge of industry practices.
  • Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions common to equipment.
  • Knowledge of accounts payable and understands flow of invoicing.
  • Attention to detail, good with numbers and ledgers.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to learn quickly and enjoys working in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a virtual environment, as the other team members are all located at different Vermeer Southeast locations.
