MedStar Health is looking for a Senior CT Technologist to join our team at Medstar Washington Hospital Center!
As a Senior CT Technologist, you will perform computerized axial tomography scans (CT) on patients in multiple sites. Establishes basic CT scan teaching criteria for new technicians and students. Responsible for the CT scan operation in the absence of the CT Supervisor.

Primary Duties:
  • Schedules and prepares patients for examinations and reviews patient charts for appropriate history and orders. Scans and monitors patients during scanning procedures.

  • Administers contrast materials and assists with interventional studies, as needed. Films images and delivers films to radiologist for stat readings. Develops criteria for and teaches CT principles/techniques to new employees and students.

  • Performs daily equipment warm-ups and checks equipment to ensure proper working conditions. Ensures that examination rooms are properly stocked with equipment and materials needed to perform scanning procedures. Orders supplies when needed.

  • Oversees daily operation of outpatient scanner. Prepares reports and maintains records of exams performed using the radiology department computer system. Reconciles all errors found on these reports and verifies that all exams meet quality assurance standards and are accurate.

  • Completes all required information system functions to assure proper patient information, billing, exam, and other necessary functions. Oversees department activities/operations and staff during supervisor's absence.

Qualifications:
Education
  • Associate's degree required; or
  • Certificate in Radiologic Technology from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the US Department of Education (USDE) Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or Medical Education and Training Campus (METC) required.

Experience
  • 3+ years CT experience required.

Licenses and Certifications
  • ARRT Registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technology ARRT (R) and (CT) required upon hire; or
  • NMTCB (CT) upon hire required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required upon hire.
