Job description

Job Description:
Software Engineer III's design, code, test, and debug modern, scalable UI applications; maintain and document program changes with a focus on usability, performance, and maintainability. They competently perform work in complex sections of at least one major CSI application, with an emphasis on front-end architecture and user experience. They maintain and document program changes while contributing to the evolution and modernization of existing UI technologies. This role requires use of imagination, originality, and ingenuity to uphold high engineering standards and deliver intuitive, high-quality user interfaces with significant business impact.
Responsibilities:
  • Project Leadership: Take ownership of the development and rollout of entire products or large UI-focused projects, driving front-end architecture and collaborating across the full stack.
  • Standards and Practices: Enforce department coding standards and best practices, with a strong emphasis on modern Angular, TypeScript, responsive design, and UI performance optimization.
  • Project Management: Demonstrate effective and efficient project management skills, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality, user-centric features.
  • Technical Specifications: Write technical specifications with clear front-end architecture considerations and identify project and programming risks, including UI/UX and integration dependencies.
  • Coaching and Mentorship: Champion processes and technologies (Agile, CI/CD, modern front-end frameworks) while coaching colleagues on UI best practices and maintainable design patterns.
  • Expertise and Innovation: Showcase expertise in software engineering with a strong focus on front-end technologies while exploring and adopting emerging UI and full-stack technologies.
  • Programming Knowledge: Apply knowledge of Angular, TypeScript, and related web technologies effectively, while demonstrating the ability and willingness to expand into backend development as needed.
  • Thought Leadership: Provide proactive investigation, problem-solving, and thought leadership, particularly in UI architecture, modernization efforts, and cross-stack integration.
  • Mentorship: Offer coaching and mentorship to less experienced Software Engineers, especially in developing scalable, maintainable front-end solutions.
  • Additional Duties: Fulfill additional duties as assigned, contributing to the team's overall effectiveness and supporting cross-functional and cross-stack initiatives.

Requirements:
  • Accredited university, college, or trade school education and training in applicable technology, advanced degrees, or certifications preferred.
  • 7+ years of successful, relevant software engineering experience, with a strong focus on backend service development and complex system integrations.
  • Strong proficiency with Angular, TypeScript, UI architecture, and modern web development practices
  • Product/project leadership skills
  • Full-stack collaboration is critical for success in the role
  • Technical specifications and risk identification
  • Agile, methodologies CI/CD experience , good knowledge of coding standards, and maintainable design patterns
  • Mentorship and project management skills are required for success
