Job description

Our client, a well-established global manufacturer of consumer products, is seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager to lead a small engineering team responsible for the electrical design, compliance, testing, and successful launch of new products.
This is an outstanding opportunity for someone who has worked with consumer appliances or small consumer products and wants to play a visible role in developing innovative products that reach customers worldwide.

  • Lead the electrical engineering function for new product development and product improvements.
  • Manage and mentor a small team of engineers and laboratory personnel.
  • Review electrical designs, schematics, wiring systems, and control assemblies for performance, quality, and manufacturability.
  • Work closely with Product Development, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Support prototyping, validation testing, troubleshooting, and engineering change activities.
  • Coordinate electrical compliance activities and product certifications with third-party agencies, including UL, CSA, FCC, and other applicable standards.
  • Oversee an on-site product testing laboratory and help ensure products meet safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Build strong relationships with component suppliers and external testing organizations to support successful product launches.
  • Drive continuous improvement in electrical design, product reliability, and manufacturing processes.
What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering strongly preferred
  • Experience developing consumer appliances, small appliances, or consumer electronic products.
  • Prior leadership experience managing engineers or technical teams.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, control boards, power distribution, and electrical components.
  • Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and transitioning products into manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge of product safety and regulatory standards such as UL, CSA, or FCC.
  • Hands-on engineering mindset with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supplier organizations.
  • Lead engineering efforts that directly impact new consumer products.
