Job description

Responsibilities

Responsible for performing various duties in the Central Sterile area of the Operating Room such as cleaning of used articles, assembling, wrapping, and issuing sterile supplies.  Processes instruments and equipment using steam, gas and chemicals.  Decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, and sterilizing medical and surgical instruments.  Ensure that every tool used in operating rooms and clinical procedures is safe and free of infectio

Qualifications

Licensure, Certification, Registration, etc.: Central Sterile Technician Certification preferred. 

Prefer an LVN, C.M.A. or related field.

Special Skills, Knowledge:  At least two years of experience in a health care facility preferred. Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.   Familiar with basic medical terminology.  Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served.  

Education: High School diploma or equivalency, basic understanding/working knowledge of aseptic technique, able to work independently required. Certification and/or prior CS Tech experience preferred.

Qualifications:
