Canadian Solar is seeking a Business Strategy Analyst to join our Commercial Operations team. This is a business-focused strategy and commercial operations role supporting senior leadership with strategic planning, financial analysis, business performance management, and operational decision-making.

The ideal candidate will bring experience from corporate strategy, management consulting, FP&A, commercial operations, business operations, or operational excellence and will be comfortable evaluating business performance from both a financial and operational perspective.

This position will analyze P&L performance, forecasts, business trends, market dynamics, and operational KPIs to identify opportunities and develop recommendations for leadership. The Business Strategy Analyst will also support annual and long-range planning, business cases, strategic initiatives, and executive business reviews.

**This is not an IT, software development, systems analyst, or data engineering position. The emphasis is on applying financial and operational analysis to solve business problems and support commercial decision-making.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Analyze business and financial performance, including revenue, profitability, P&L results, budgets, forecasts, variances, and operational KPIs.
  • Develop financial and operational models to support strategic planning, forecasting, resource allocation, investment decisions, and business performance management.
  • Identify business trends, performance gaps, risks, and growth opportunities and translate findings into actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Support annual operating plans, long-range strategic planning, monthly and quarterly business reviews, and other leadership planning activities.
  • Develop business cases, scenario analyses, investment evaluations, and strategic recommendations for commercial and operational initiatives.
  • Partner with Finance, Sales, Product Management, Operations, and Supply Chain to evaluate business performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability, productivity, scalability, and operational effectiveness.
  • Conduct market, customer, industry, and competitive analysis to support commercial strategy and business planning.
  • Prepare executive-level presentations, performance scorecards, and management reporting that clearly communicate business results, trends, and recommendations.
  • Support strategic initiatives and special projects from initial business analysis through recommendation and implementation.
  • Present business insights and recommendations to senior leadership and key cross-functional stakeholders.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Operations, Engineering, or a related business discipline required; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years industry experience required. Experience at a leading consulting firm or investment banking a plus.
  • Experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, FP&A, strategic finance, business operations, commercial operations, or operational excellence strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of P&L analysis, financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, business planning, and performance management.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate complex business problems and convert financial, operational, and market information into clear business recommendations.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen with an understanding of the factors that influence revenue, profitability, operating performance, and business growth.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills, including financial modeling, business analysis, and executive-level presentations.
  • Experience developing KPIs, management scorecards, and executive reporting to support business performance discussions and decision-making.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and interact effectively with senior leadership in a fast-paced business environment.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, renewable energy, solar, energy storage, industrial, or infrastructure businesses is highly desirable.
  • Second-language proficiency in Chinese is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits:
Canadian Solar offers a competitive salary plus fully comprehensive benefits and performance bonus package based on an annual objective achievement. Our generous benefits package includes a 401(k) Retirement Plan, medical/dental/life/disability program, PTO and sick days.

The pay range for this position is $105,000 - $130,000 USD. This range represents annual base salary only, without regard to location, and does not include bonus or other incentives or benefits that may apply. The pay range for this role is subject to change.
