RBR-Technologies is seeking a System Engineer to support one of our customers in Maryland. RESPONSIBILITIES The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the certification of cryptographic high assurance devices and experience with High Assurance products and IASRD/SERD requirements. Some of the responsibilities associated with the position include (but are not limited to): * Perform system security analyses, risk assessments, and compliance reviews of contractor deliverables against the Information Assurance Security Requirements Directive (IASRD) and the Security Evaluation Requirements Document (SERD) * Document findings and recommend design adjustments or process improvements to ensure certification success * Coordinate with design/development teams to integrate cryptographic requirements early in the system lifecycle * Define, plan, and execute security testing and validation activities in coordination with NSA certification authorities * Develop verification methods to ensure devices meet performance and security standards. * Support lab and field testing of cryptographic devices, documenting results for certification submission * Serve as a liaison between the contractor's engineering team and customer stakeholders Additional responsibilities associated with the position include: * Preparing, reviewing, revising, and maintaining technical documents, including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation. * Managing system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems that are compatible with the defined system architecture(s) - Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF), Service-oriented Architecture (SOA), etc * Contributing to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements specifications, and Interface Control Documents * Coordinating the resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews that require cross-discipline coordination * Participating in an Integrated Product Team to design new capabilities based upon evaluation of all necessary development and operational considerations REQUIREMENTS * This role can be hired at a level 2 or 3 * Level 2: 14 years experience * Level 3: 20 years experience * Bachelors degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university. 5 additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. * TS/SCI with polygraph * Hands-on experience supporting the the certification process for cryptographic or high-assurance devices * Demonstrated experience and understanding of the Information Assurance Security Requirements Directive (IASRD) and Security Evaluation Requirements Document (SERD) to enforce compliance * Strong background in high assurance products and related security standards * Ability to translate certification requirements into engineering artifacts, test plans, and compliance documentation * Proven ability to conduct system security testing, verification, and validation in accordance with NSA certification requirements * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing technical documentation and delivering briefings to stakeholders * System Engineer 2 and 3 candidates should have demonstrated systems engineering experience * See table below for LCAT requirements by level PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Knowledge of cryptographic algorithms, key management systems, and secure communication protocols * Prior experience developing or certifying High Assurance products (e.g., TACLANE, KG-series devices, KMI components) A career at RBR-Technologies doesn't mean you have to make sacrifices in other areas of your life. * Best in class health benefits plan * Generous 401k with matching * Flexible work policies and schedules (dependent upon contract) * Generous Paid Time Off + All Federal Holidays * Special paid leave for: Bereavement, Voting, Military, and more * Paid Volunteer Hours for Community Outreach * Paid Parental Leave * Family-Friendly Company Paid Events * Annual Pet Insurance Benefit Equal Employment Opportunity has been, and will continue to be, a fundamental principle at RBR-Technologies, where employment is based on personal capabilities and qualifications without discrimination because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, age, national origin, disability status, genetic information, protected veteran status, or any protected characteristic as established by law.
