Job description

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Cryptographic Vulnerability Analyst to join our team in Linthicum Heights, MD.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Identifying vulnerabilities and cybersecurity threats to programs, functions, products, applications, and systems using HUMINT, SIGINT, GEOINT, OSINT, and other information to assess vulnerabilities while conducting security evaluations of hardware and software components, architectures, algorithms, and protocols.
  • Comparing and contrasting various cryptographic attack techniques and developing operationally effective countermeasures by collaborating with threat analysts to conduct comprehensive, regular threat assessments of network cryptographic devices, components, and technologies.
  • Providing formal and informal reports, briefings, and perspectives of actual and potential attacks against the systems, technologies, applications, operations, or missions being studied by using threat analysis and technical knowledge to provide security guidance and develop mitigations to threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Developing mitigation strategies and countermeasures to address vulnerabilities of networks, products, and services while creating and maintaining documentation on technical information and documenting research processes, analyses, and/or the results.
  • Identifying vulnerabilities to attack communications networks and systems while developing countermeasures and performing security analysis, evaluation, and guidance on the design and implementation of cryptographic protocols.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 8 years of Cryptographic Vulnerability Analysis or related Cybersecurity experience (no degree), OR a Bachelor’s degree (Computer Science or related) + 3 years of experience, OR a Master’s degree + 1 year of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Python, C, or C++ for code analysis and vulnerability assessments.
  • Proficiency in both Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Experience with network traffic analysis and packet inspection tools (Wireshark preferred).

Clearance Requirements:

  • Current/Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
