Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Accountant based in Netherlands.

This is a fully remote opportunity for an experienced accountant to support the financial operations of a rapidly growing fintech and digital assets business. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate accounting across a high-volume, multi-channel operation with complex transaction flows. The role combines full-cycle accounting, large-scale reconciliations, month-end close, financial reporting, and digital asset accounting. You will work closely with operations, cash management, compliance, and other teams to resolve discrepancies and maintain strong financial controls. The environment is fast-paced and highly dynamic, offering exposure to cryptocurrency, financial technology, and emerging AI-enabled accounting tools. This is an ideal opportunity for a proactive accountant who enjoys ownership, problem-solving, and working across multiple business lines.

Accountabilities
  • Manage the full accounting cycle, including general ledger activities, account reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting.
  • Reconcile cash and transaction activity across a large, distributed network of digital currency kiosks, working with operations and cash logistics teams to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support accounting for digital asset transactions, including monitoring transaction volumes and gains or losses across kiosk sales, OTC trading, online purchases, and digital wallet activities.
  • Apply sound financial judgment in a high-transaction-volume environment while maintaining accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, expense management, and vendor relationships.
  • Support financial and regulatory reporting requirements associated with operating as a licensed money services business, collaborating with compliance teams as needed.
  • Help integrate, improve, and optimize accounting tools and systems as the business continues to scale across multiple locations and revenue channels.
  • Use cloud-based accounting and collaboration tools such as QuickBooks Online, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Google Drive, Slack, and Zoom to manage day-to-day financial operations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, reporting workflows, and operational efficiency.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and AI applications in accounting, identifying practical opportunities to enhance automation, analysis, and productivity.
  • Communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders and provide useful context in both synchronous and asynchronous collaboration.
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience supporting U.S.-based companies; CPA certification is preferred.
  • Proven experience managing full-cycle accounting in a high-transaction-volume, multi-location, or otherwise operationally complex environment.
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting.
  • Experience making informed financial decisions in fast-paced, high-growth environments while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Familiarity with cryptocurrency, digital assets, regulated financial services, or money services businesses is a strong advantage, although industry experience is not required and training can be provided.
  • Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online or comparable cloud-based accounting software.
  • Comfortable working with Google Sheets, Google Docs, Google Drive, Slack, Zoom, and Google Meet in a remote environment.
  • Experience with cash management or treasury reconciliation tools is highly desirable.
  • Exposure to cryptocurrency exchanges, digital wallets, or crypto-specific accounting platforms is a plus.
  • Awareness of AI applications and automation opportunities in accounting is an advantage.
  • Full professional fluency in English, with the ability to explain financial concepts clearly to non-finance professionals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly for clear and contextual asynchronous updates.
  • Proactive, organized, and solutions-oriented approach, with strong time management and independent problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of ownership, integrity, curiosity, adaptability, and willingness to operate in a rapidly evolving environment.
  • Ability to work effectively and independently in a fully remote setting.
  • Candidates must be currently based in Europe or Latin America (LATAM).
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary in USD, based on experience and qualifications.
  • Fully remote position, allowing you to work from Poland with a professional home setup.
  • Unlimited paid time off (PTO) plus U.S. national holidays.
  • Opportunity to work within the rapidly evolving fintech, cryptocurrency, and digital assets industry.
  • Exposure to complex, high-volume financial operations across multiple business lines.
  • Opportunity to contribute directly to process improvement, accounting optimization, and business growth.
  • Supportive and collaborative remote working environment.
  • Opportunities to expand your expertise in digital asset accounting, regulated financial operations, automation, and emerging AI tools.
  • High level of ownership and autonomy in a fast-growing organization.
