Job description

Tempo is a layer-1 blockchain purpose-built for stablecoins and real-world payments, born from Stripeโ€™s experience in global payments and Paradigmโ€™s expertise in crypto tech. Tempoโ€™s payment-first design provides a scalable, low-cost predictable backbone that meets the needs of high-volume payment use cases. Our goal is to move money reliably, cheaply, and at scale. Our north star is simplicity for users: fintechs, traditional banks, merchants, platforms, and anyone else looking to move their payments into the 21st century. We're building Tempo with design partners who are global leaders in AI, e-commerce, and financial services: Anthropic, Coupang, Deutsche Bank, DoorDash, Mercury, Nubank, OpenAI, Revolut, Shopify, Standard Chartered, Visa, and more. Weโ€™re a team of crypto-optimists, building the infrastructure needed to bring real, substantial economic flows onchain. We like to move fast and swing for the fences โ€” join us!

The Role

Youโ€™ll help put the Tempo blockchain in the hands of real users. That happens in two ways: building first-party products like Tempo Wallet, and working directly with customers to integrate Tempo into their stablecoin flows. Youโ€™ll work closely with production grade blockchain systems, money movement flows. This role is a strong fit for a former founder, or someone who wants to start a company one day. Youโ€™ll get exposure to a wide range of business-critical payments and crypto problems across startups, midโ€‘market companies, and enterprises. Youโ€™ll move between building products and deploying them inside customer environments, gaining a deep understanding of the full product, integration, and go-to-market cycle.

Responsibilities
  • Build internal and first-party applications on top of Tempo for both agents and humans
  • Partner with startups and enterprises to integrate Tempo into their payment systems
  • Develop a deep understanding of the Tempo blockchain and its product surface area
  • Navigate unfamiliar codebases and organizations quickly to get products shipped
  • Bring field learnings back to Tempo to improve the product, developer experience, and blockchain itself
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of full-stack engineering experience, including 1+ year(s) in crypto
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work across technical and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Ability to travel within the US to work with partners when needed
  • Track record of shipping mission-critical systems where safety and reliability matter
  • Ability to balance speed, pragmatism, and technical quality
  • High motor
  • Razor-sharp thinker with precise command of language
  • Concise, evidence-based communicator
  • Excellent organizational and logistical skills
  • Intense curiosity and open-mindedness
  • Scrappiness; willingness to roll up sleeves
