Anchorage Digital is a crypto platform that enables institutions to participate in digital assets through custody, staking, trading, governance, settlement, and the industry's leading security infrastructure. Home to Anchorage Digital Bank N.A., the first federally chartered crypto bank in the U.S., Anchorage Digital also serves institutions through Anchorage Digital Singapore, Porto by Anchorage Digital, and other offerings.
The company is funded by leading institutions including Andreessen Horowitz, GIC, Goldman Sachs, KKR, and Visa, with its Series D valuation over $3 billion. Founded in 2017 in San Francisco, California, Anchorage Digital has offices in New York, New York; Porto, Portugal; Singapore; and Sioux Falls, South Dakota. With the evolving landscape of digital threats and an increasing volume of sophisticated attacks by malicious actors, we have a security policy mandating all new hires complete an in-person onboarding process - no exceptions. Security is our foundation and we prioritize physical identity verification and secure IT setup. While our security and IT logistics require physical presence to protect our infrastructure from sophisticated global threats, this move is equally about our Village culture. We believe that a laptop can be shipped, but our culture cannot.
We are seeking a highly motivated and intellectually curious individual to join our Compliance team. In this vital role, you will support the design, implementation, and optimization of compliance programs across all Anchorage Digital legal entities. Working closely with various compliance functions, particularly Financial Crimes Compliance, you will drive efficiency and effectiveness across the program by transforming raw data into actionable insights, spearheading process improvements, and leveraging technology to enhance our overall compliance posture.
This role is ideal for a proactive, hungry technologist who thrives on solving complex problems within a dynamic regulatory landscape. Here, you will gain deep exposure to diverse compliance domains and apply your data expertise to strengthen Anchorage Digital's global compliance function through analytics, automation, and the strategic use of AI tools.
To excel in our fast-paced environment, you must be well-organized, highly analytical, and adept at navigating rapid change and uncertainty. If you are a proactive, detail-oriented, and innovative problem-solver who can effectively manage competing priorities in a fluid setting, this role is designed for you.

Technical Skills:
  • Expertise in compliance data: Deeply understand compliance-related data tables and models, including data nuances, underlying codes, and model limitations, with the ability to conduct reliable data analysis independently and accurately.

  • AI deployment and innovation: Bring experience experimenting with and deploying AI solutions, while staying current with the latest AI developments to actively find new ways to enhance efficiency through internal AI tools or creative methods.

Complexity and Impact of Work:

  • Process improvement and best practices: Contribute to process improvements and best practices for the FCC Analytics team, including code review, testing frameworks, project management, and documentation.
  • Ad hoc analysis and regulatory response: Conduct ad hoc analyses and respond to time-sensitive data requests from auditors, regulators, or other Compliance teams with accuracy and speed.

Organizational Knowledge:
  • Business and data flow comprehension: Develop a deep understanding of Anchorage Digital's business model across custody, staking, stablecoins, and trading, and how data flows through these domains and compliance models.
  • Cross-functional coordination: Coordinate with cross-functional teams, such as Product and Engineering, to implement and improve tools and processes within the broader Compliance department.
  • Organizational and strategic alignment: Understand how the Compliance and FCC teams fit within the broader organizational structure, and align work with team and company priorities.

Communication and Influence:
  • Priority management and clarity: Manage competing priorities across strategic projects and urgent ad-hoc requests, asking clarifying questions to scope ambiguous requests and pushing back constructively when requirements are unclear to propose alternative approaches.
  • Insight presentation and tailoring: Present findings and data insights with appropriate context, visual aids, and a tailored communication style.

You may be a fit for this role if you have:
  • Experience: Bring 2-3 years of experience in a data analytics or data science role, paired with a strong understanding of blockchain, cryptocurrency, and the financial services industry.
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate the ability to operate autonomously to manage multiple competing priorities, alongside proficiency in data manipulation and analysis tools like SQL, Looker, and advanced Excel/Google Sheets. This includes advanced SQL skills such as CTEs, window functions, complex joins, and query optimization, with the ability to write production-quality queries for diverse use cases.
  • Automation & AI Aptitude: Possess experience with or a strong interest in automation principles, leveraging existing AI tools, and exploring new AI tools, such as AI Agents, to enhance productivity.
  • Technologist Mindset: Bring a strong understanding of how systems, data flows, and technologies interact, even if you are not necessarily an engineer, combined with an eagerness to learn and apply new technologies.

Although not a requirement, bonus points if:
  • Versatile industry background: Prior experience in the financial services industry, crypto industry, start-up, or a fast-paced, evolving environment where you have worn multiple hats and adapted quickly.
  • Compliance and risk knowledge: A general understanding of regulatory compliance, financial crimes, and risk management.
  • Data transformation and engineering practices: Experience with data transformation tools like dbt or similar, alongside familiarity with version control (Git) and software engineering best practices for analytics.
  • Scripting capabilities: Experience using Python or other scripting languages for data analysis, automation, or data pipeline work.
  • Tailored communication: Excellent communication skills with experience presenting technical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Execution under pressure: A proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver accurate results under tight deadlines, especially for compliance- or audit-related requests.
  • Commitment to quality: A detail-oriented and quality-focused mindset with a strong commitment to data accuracy, testing, and documentation.
  • You were emotionally moved by the soundtrack to Hamilton, which chronicles the founding of a new financial system. :)
