The Department of Molecular Medicine seeks candidates for a tenured or tenure-track position who use structural biology-based approaches and cryo-EM to understand the molecular basis of disease that complement the department's existing strengths in infectious, neurological, and oncological diseases.  The successful candidate for this position is expected to have already established a nationally recognized, competitively funded research program, and have experience mentoring and educating graduate and medical students. A highly competitive salary and start-up package commensurate with experience will be provided to the successful candidate to promote continued success.

Minimum:  

  • Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. 
  • Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate Professor, or Full Professor.
  • For Associate/Full Professor:  Must have established a national and/or international reputation in the field as evidenced by significant publications and competitive research grants.   

Preferred: 

  • Ph.D. in biochemistry or a related field, with research experience evidenced by peer-reviewed publications and successful grant writing.  
  • Preference will be given to candidates with interdisciplinary training, a record of collaboration, and direct experience with Cryo-EM techniques.

  • Will be expected to serve on department and college service committees as assigned.
  • Serve the scientific community by reviewing manuscripts and grants, and participate in scientific societies.
