Crusher Building Operator

 

Position type: Full-Time, Hourly

Pay range: $28.00-$31.00 per hour, based on experience

Overtime: Occasionally required

What You’ll Do


The Crusher Building Operator will work with and directly report to the Shift Production Foreman.  The Operator will be directly involved in the monitoring and operation of several pieces of crushing and screening equipment.  This position will load raw materials into the primary feed tank and operate the primary crusher to reduce their size to pass through the primary screener.  This position is Monday – Thursday from 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM with occasional hours required on Fridays.  There is a 90-day probation period for this position. 

  • Perform routine checks of equipment for worn parts and replace parts as needed to include crusher tips, screener’s screens, dust lines, screener inlet, and discharge boots
  • Clean the floor, platforms, and catwalks each shift with the assistance of an industrial vacuum
  • Fill, transport, palletize, stack, and organize drums and super sacks of abrasive grain pulled from inside the crusher building
  • Attend to two dust collectors in the crusher building and change out discharge sacks when full
  • Perform material sampling and deliver samples to the lab for analysis multiple times per shift
  • Move magnetic tailings from the crusher building into the metal dumpster
  • Conduct chain hoist inspections prior to use
  • Conduct housekeeping throughout shift and specifically if a leak develops before returning to operations
  • Perform other necessary duties and projects as assigned

 

 

What You’ll Need


To be successful in this position, you must:

  • Have the ability to work from an elevated platform, in a basement to monitor all equipment, climb a ladder and stairs to inspect equipment operations and for leaks constantly
  • Have basic computer skills and the ability to perform basic math calculations
  • Be mechanically inclined and able to use basic hand tools, i.e. wrenches, screw drivers, mallets, etc.
  • Be able to speak, read, and write English (Spanish is a plus) 
  • Be safety oriented and work efficiently while meeting daily production targets
