Job description

General Description Employees in this position issue parking and municipal code violation tickets and/or citations for violations and perform related clerical duties. The employees work under supervision of the Parking Enforcement Supervisor. They perform related work as required.

CITY RESIDENCY IS REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION Typical Work Activities Issues parking tickets and citations for parking overtime, in no parking zones, in ADA spaces without a permit, too close to fire hydrants, crosswalks and driveways, and too far from the curb; Issues municipal code violation tickets to individuals who violate other specific sections of the municipal codes and ordinances; Patrols assigned areas, on foot and using an automobile, in order to identify violations and issue tickets; Places and removes parking meter bags when an area needs temporary restricted parking; Completes required paperwork resulting from issuance of tickets and citations using an electronic computer-linked system; Identifies immobilization eligible vehicles and places a device on vehicle to prevent it from being moved; Contacts supervisor or Police Department concerning vehicles which require towing; Serves as school crossing guard or bureau messenger as needed. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid New York State Class D driver's license at time of appointment.

This license must be maintained throughout employment in this job title. NOTE: *Schedule: Monday - Thursday 6PM - 10PM, Saturday 10AM - 2PM
