Job description

We are a true farm-to-table company with an integrated portfolio including food processing and food brands, phosphate mining, fertilizer manufacturing, farming, ranching and cattle production, and other enterprises related to agriculture.SummaryThe Supply Planner is responsible for leading supply planning activities to ensure customer demand is met while maintaining inventory targets and optimizing supply chain efficiency. This role aligns manufacturing, inventory, raw material, and supplier plans with finished goods requirements to support business objectives. The Supply Planner drives continuous improvement in planning processes, supports integrated business planning (IBP) and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), and ensures consistent execution of both insourced and outsourced supply planning activities.Key Responsibilities Build and maintain strong partnerships across the extended supply chain, including Manufacturing, Procurement, Agriculture Services, Logistics, and Commercial teams.Ensure key supply planning processes are maintained and executed at a best-practice standard.Develop a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing operations, production capabilities, key material availability, labor requirements, and seasonal supply considerations.Oversee crop and finished goods sanctioning processes to ensure alignment with business requirements.Monitor Work-in-Process (WIP) plans and inventory positions to support seasonal demand requirements, proactively escalating risks and exceptions.Manage the integration of alternate and dual-source supply strategies to mitigate risk and support changing business requirements.Lead supply planning activities associated with new product introductions, product changes, and product discontinuations through the NPI process.Prepare recommendations and provide critical supply inputs for Supply Chain IBP and S&OP review meetings.Facilitate monthly Demand and Supply Review meetings to ensure alignment and secure supply commitments against the business plan.Procure fertilizer, micronutrients, and other assigned materials as required to support operational needs.Analyze supply chain performance metrics and identify opportunities to improve service levels, inventory management, and planning effectiveness.Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance planning accuracy, supply chain agility, and operational efficiency.Typical EducationBachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Agriculture, Logistics, or a related field.Relevant Experience  Supply PlanningDemand PlanningInventory ManagementProcurementLogistics and DistributionManufacturing OperationsSales & Operations Planning (S&OP)Integrated Business Planning (IBP)Other Information    Experience with Advanced Planning Systems (e.g., SAP IBP, Kinaxis, Oracle, or similar planning platforms).Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.Understanding of master planning concepts, inventory optimization, logistics, customer service, and deployment planning.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial decision-making skills.Ability to influence cross-functional teams and effectively manage competing priorities.Experience in agriculture, crop planning, fertilizer procurement, or seasonal supply chain environments preferred.Job Requisition ID:27187Travel Required:Location(s):Simplot Headquarters - BoiseCountry:United States**The Simplot Company is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and will consider all qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, age, sex, gender, gender identity, gender expression, genetic information, physical or mental disability, medical condition, sexual orientation, military or veteran status, marital status, or any other protected status.If the Simplot Company decides to offer you this position, such offer will be conditioned on your satisfactory completion of a post-offer criminal background check.
