Job Description:
The Critical Environment (CE) Technician will provide operational support for data center cooling infrastructure, including chillers, condenser water systems, and air-cooled heat exchanger (ACHE) fan systems. This role is responsible for monitoring system performance, manually adjusting operating parameters as directed, documenting equipment conditions, and escalating abnormal operating conditions to site leadership. The technician will support 24x7 operations to help maintain critical cooling capacity and data center uptime.
Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor chiller, condenser water, and ACHE fan system performance.
  • Manually adjust fan speeds, operating modes, and system setpoints in accordance with approved operating procedures.
  • Track and record temperatures, pressures, alarms, and equipment status throughout the shift.
  • Perform routine system walk-throughs and inspections of cooling equipment.
  • Identify and escalate abnormal operating conditions, equipment failures, or performance concerns.
  • Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Methods of Procedure (MOPs), and safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate shift logs, operating reports, and operational documentation.
  • Coordinate with Critical Environment, Engineering, and Facilities teams during elevated ambient temperature events or equipment outages.
  • Support continuous operations in a 24x7 mission-critical data center environment.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in a critical facilities, HVAC, central plant, industrial operations, or data center environment.
  • Basic understanding of chillers, cooling towers, pumps, condenser water systems, and HVAC equipment.
  • Ability to interpret operating procedures and follow detailed instructions.
  • Experience monitoring equipment through Building Automation Systems (BAS), Building Management Systems (BMS), or similar controls platforms preferred.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Data center or critical facilities experience.
  • Experience with chiller plants, cooling systems, or large commercial HVAC operations.
  • OSHA 10, OSHA 30, LOTO, or NFPA 70E certification.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and electronic logging systems.
Work Environment
  • 24x7 operational support role.
  • Primarily field-based within a mission-critical data center environment.
  • Frequent equipment inspections and monitoring of mechanical cooling systems.
  • Ability to work in mechanical rooms and outdoor equipment areas during varying weather conditions.

There are Front half and Back half days as well as Front and Back half night shifts available
Rate:
Will be varied based on shift as well as qualifications and experience, payrate may range from $45-$55/hr *
