Title: Chemist I
Location: Pomona, California
Duration: 7 Months

Summary
We are seeking a motivated Analytical Chemist I to support our Analytical Toxicology Laboratory on a six-month contract assignment. The successful candidate will perform routine sample preparation, analytical testing, data review, and documentation activities in support of toxicology studies. This role offers hands-on experience with modern analytical instrumentation and the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, regulated laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform sample preparation and extraction.
  • Conduct routine analyses using analytical instrumentation, LC-MS/MS:
  • Prepare reagents, standards, controls, and calibration solutions.
  • Execute analytical methods according to approved procedures and study protocols.
  • Review analytical data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with laboratory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records, notebooks, and electronic documentation.
  • Assist with instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance checks.
  • Participate in laboratory investigations, deviations, and corrective actions as assigned.
  • Support laboratory organization, inventory management, and general housekeeping activities.
  • Follow all applicable safety, GMP, GLP, and laboratory procedures.
  • Carries out duties in compliance with established business policies.
  • Demonstrates commitment to the development, implementation and effectiveness of Quality Management System per ISO, FDA, and other regulatory agencies

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Toxicology, or a related scientific discipline.
  • 0 to 2 years of analytical laboratory experience.
  • Basic understanding of chromatographic and mass spectrometry techniques.
  • Strong proficiency in pipetting techniques, including accurate and precise handling of microliter volumes and preparation of standards, controls, and sample dilutions.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow written procedures and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred
  • Experience in a toxicology, pharmaceutical, environmental, or CRO laboratory.
  • Hands-on experience with LC-MS/MS systems.
  • Knowledge of GMP, GLP, or regulated laboratory environments.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in a laboratory environment for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
