Job description

The Certified Residential Medication Aide (CRMA) plays a vital role in ensuring the safe, accurate, and compassionate administration of medications within our 50+ bed mens recovery program. CRMAs support residents in their wellness and recovery by following Maines medication administration standards, maintaining secure medication storage, documenting accurately, and communicating clearly with supervisory staff.

This position requires integrity, reliability, attention to detail, and a commitment to the mission of holistic, person-centered recovery.


  • Administer prescribed medications according to CRMA certification guidelines and Maine state regulations.
  • Follow the 5 Rights of Medication Administration: Right Person, Right Medication, Right Dose, Right Route, Right Time.
  • Prepare and pass medications during scheduled med rounds with accuracy.
  • Document all administered medications in the facilitys MAR (Medication Administration Record) immediately and accurately per provider's orders.
  • Identify and report medication errors or omissions according to policy.
  • Monitor residents for side effects or adverse reactions and notify supervisors immediately of concerns.
  • Maintain strict security of all medication carts, locked medication rooms, and controlled substances.

Documentation & Communication

  • Update the MAR, controlled substance log, and incident reports as required
  • Communicate with Medical Provider, Contracted Pharmacy and CRMAs
  • Record PRN medication outcomes within required timeframes.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA standards at all times.
