Job description

Promera is a leading provider of critical environment management solutions for mission-critical environments, including data centers, cleanrooms, life sciences facilities, and other highly regulated operational spaces. For over 45 years, we have helped clients protect the performance, reliability, and compliance of their most demanding environments through specialized technical services, workforce solutions, and operational expertise.

The Sales Engineer serves as the technical bridge between Promera's commercial teams and our customers, enabling deeper, more strategic sales opportunities through technical expertise, solution design, and consultative engagement.

This role partners closely with Business Development Managers, National Account Executives, Operations leaders, and customers to identify challenges, assess technical requirements, develop customized solutions, and position Promera's capabilities in a way that drives customer value and accelerates revenue growth.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge of critical environments with exceptional communication skills and the ability to translate complex operational requirements into practical, commercially viable solutions.

What You’ll Work On

  • Partner with Business Development, National Account, and Operations teams throughout the sales cycle to provide technical expertise, solution design, and strategic customer guidance.
  • Participate in customer meetings, site assessments, and discovery sessions to identify operational challenges, technical requirements, compliance risks, and opportunities for Promera services.
  • Analyze customer environments and develop customized solutions, scopes of work, and implementation strategies aligned with operational objectives, safety requirements, and budget constraints.
  • Design and recommend service solutions including pre-commissioning, critical cleaning, contamination control, workforce solutions, and other Promera offerings.
  • Conduct technical assessments by reviewing facility conditions, drawings, specifications, commissioning plans, and project documentation to identify risks, gaps, and performance improvement opportunities.
  • Translate technical findings into actionable recommendations, business cases, and value propositions that support customer decision-making and sales growth.
  • Lead the technical development of proposals, RFP responses, customer presentations, and solution documentation, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and Promera operational capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Project Management, and field leadership to validate labor strategies, execution plans, resource requirements, and project feasibility.
  • Support pricing and estimating efforts by defining technical assumptions, labor requirements, equipment needs, schedules, and execution methodologies.
  • Develop technical sales tools, customer-facing materials, case studies, and training content that enhance the effectiveness of Promera's commercial teams.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on critical environments, industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements while representing Promera at customer events, conferences, and industry forums.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical sales, solutions engineering, commissioning, mission-critical facilities, construction, industrial services, or related industries.
  • Experience supporting data center, mission-critical, cleanroom, life sciences, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, or advanced manufacturing environments.
  • Strong ability to interpret technical specifications, construction documents, and operational requirements.
  • Experience collaborating with both commercial and operational teams.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and customer-facing skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed to support customers and business development activities.
  • What Success Looks Like in the First 12 Months
  • Establish yourself as a trusted technical advisor to Sales, Operations, and customers, serving as the primary resource for technical consultation and solution development.
  • Support the pursuit and growth of strategic opportunities through effective discovery, site assessments, and solution design.
  • Improve sales outcomes through stronger technical positioning, customer engagement, and proposal quality.
  • Develop standardized tools, templates, and processes that improve the consistency and efficiency of technical sales support.
  • Ensure alignment between Sales and Operations by delivering solutions that are executable, profitable, and aligned with customer requirements.
  • Enhance the technical capabilities of commercial teams through training, coaching, and knowledge sharing.
  • Identify new service applications, market opportunities, and customer challenges that contribute to Promera's growth strategy.
  • Establish Promera as a trusted partner in critical environments through technical expertise, industry knowledge, and customer-facing leadership.
