Job description

Job Description: Critical Care Paramedic
Department/Group: Clinical Operations Location: Brookfield, IL, 60513Level/Salary Range: Non-Exempt $ 67,600.00 - $97,344.00
Role and Responsibilities:

The Critical Care Paramedic functions as a member of a three-person critical care transport team responsible for the following:

  • Initiation of medical care within the licensed and certified expanded scope of practice
  • Responsible for performing direct critical care interventions in accordance with the Advanced Critical Transport Expanded Scope of Practice in collaboration with the Registered Nurse
  • Participation in team-based interdisciplinary patient care
  • Safe Driving of Company Vehicles:
    • CEVO training required within 30 days of hire
  • Ensure all equipment is clean and ready for use
  • Prompt reporting of any/all damaged or lost company equipment and vehicles
  • Participation with other shift members in daily station duties
  • Attend all mandatory training and development evolutions
  • Serve as a mentor to EMT-B’s, and non-critical care paramedics
  • Strict adherence to all company policies and procedures
Qualifications and Education Requirements (Paramedic):
  • IDPH Paramedic in good standing
  • Completion of an accredited CCEMT-P Program or one of the following Board Certifications in conjunction with 100 didactic hours of critical care training: CC-PC, FP-C
  • Active Certifications in the following:
    • BLS
    • ACLS
    • PALS
    • NRP
  • Trauma Certification:
    • PHTLS/ITLS/ATLS
Orientation Schedule:

The initial orientation process will consist of four to six, twenty-four-hour shifts. A written evaluation will be completed at the end of this period by the Training Officer.
