Crimping Machine Operator – 2nd Shift

Location: Saint Paul, MN
Shift: 2nd Shift | Monday–Friday | 3:30 PM–12:00 AM
Pay Rate: $22.50/hour

In this role, you will set up, operate, and maintain automated cut/strip/crimp equipment while ensuring products meet exact specifications, tolerances, and customer requirements.

ResponsibilitiesMachine Operation & Production
  • Set up cut/strip/crimp machines according to process sheets

  • Operate multiple machines simultaneously

  • Exchange blades, rollers, and guide tubes based on wire specifications

  • Perform advanced machine maintenance and preventive maintenance (PM)

  • Clean equipment before, during, and after production runs

  • Minimize scrap through efficient operation and in-process quality checks

  • Count, bundle, and document cut wires and lot numbers

  • Sort and remove defective parts

  • Rotate between machines as needed throughout production schedules

  • Support and inspect work completed by Level I & II operators

  • Troubleshoot machine and applicator issues

Quality Assurance
  • Inspect products to IPC standards

  • Read and interpret customer prints, schematics, and drawings

  • Accurately enter job and production data into ERP systems

Safety & Workplace Standards
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures

  • Identify and report safety concerns

  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation and production area

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

QualificationsRequired:
  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum 2 years of machine operation experience

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to read SOPs, safety procedures, manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings

  • Solid math skills including measurements, fractions, and calculations

  • Experience using rulers, tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and microscopes

  • Comfortable using computers and ERP systems

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work collaboratively

Preferred:
  • Experience in ISO 9001 and/or ISO 13485 environments

  • Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience

  • Knowledge of wire harness and connector manufacturing

  • Hands-on experience with automated equipment such as Komax, Kodera, Schluniger, or similar equipment

  • 4+ years of machine setup and operation experience

Physical Requirements
  • High level of manual dexterity and ability to perform repetitive tasks

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, and move throughout shift

  • Lift up to 20 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally

  • Strong close vision, depth perception, and color recognition abilities

  • Comfortable working in moderate noise environments
