With no direct supervision, provides very complex specialized services and support to department, office, or program.

Job Description:

Description of Duties and Tasks

  • Provide support services during non class/open lab times for Fashion Design courses and programs, including Instruction, lab setup and lab safety for the Fashion Design department.

  • Communicates with instructors to monitor students attendance and participation during lab time.

  • Serve as communications liaison for Fashion Design courses and programs. Provide information regarding courses and program offerings.

  • Assist students attending lab as needed to support student progress and comprehension of course work.

  • Maintain lab cleanliness and ensure all students are following the Code of Conduct specific to Fashion Design

  • Ensure all equipments is in running condition and is turned off at end of lab sessions

  • Secures all students work in appropriate cabinets and spaces

  • Safely secures classroom at end of lab time

Knowledge

  • Course work in all areas of Fashion Design, with specific attention to construction of garments and pattern work

Skills

  • Maintaining an established work schedule.

  • Effectively using interpersonal and communications skills including tact and diplomacy.

  • Effectively using organizational and planning skills with attention to detail and follow-through.

  • Maintaining confidentiality of work-related information and materials.

  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.

  • Work is performed in a standard office environment.
