Job Summary
Laborers are responsible for performing a variety of manual tasks on construction projects including shoveling and raking asphalt material and assisting other crew members as needed to ensure the successful completion of work in a safe and efficient manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Shovel and rake asphalt.
- Perform general labor duties to support crew and project needs.
- Ability to work in extreme hot and cold weather.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Load and unload tools and materials.
- Assist with setting up and cleaning up work zones.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures.
- Must be able to work as a team and follow direction.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials up to fifty pounds.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be available for day shift or night shift as needed.
- Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
- Properly use and maintain hand tools and equipment used on the job site.
- Follow all company policies and OSHA guidelines.
- Follow directions of supervisor and communicate effectively with crew and management.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Ability to be flexible with last-minute schedule changes, location changes, and shift changes.
- Overtime may be required.
- The ability to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Must always maintain a courteous and professional manner with co-workers, customers, and the public.
