Van Driver
Location: Elko, Nevada
Position Type: Full-Time
Schedule: 14 Days On / 14 Days Off
Position Summary
Major Drilling America is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Van Driver to transport employees between Elko, Nevada and the Horse Canyon project site. This position plays a critical role in ensuring crews arrive safely and on time for shift changes and daily operations.
The Van Driver will operate company vehicles, maintain safe driving practices, and provide professional transportation services for employees working rotating day and night shifts. Due to the nature of the operation, this position requires a flexible split-shift schedule to accommodate crew rotations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Safely transport employees between Elko and the Horse Canyon project site.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of company vehicles.
  • Ensure compliance with all company transportation policies and applicable driving regulations.
  • Monitor weather and road conditions and adjust travel plans as needed to ensure safe transportation.
  • Maintain accurate mileage, inspection, and transportation records.
  • Coordinate with operations personnel regarding crew transportation schedules and shift changes.
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service to employees utilizing transportation services.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies, vehicle breakdowns, or changing operational needs.
  • Adhere to all Major Drilling safety standards and procedures.

Required Qualifications
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review.
  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • Previous commercial, passenger transportation, shuttle, bus, or van driving experience preferred.
  • Strong safety awareness and defensive driving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.

Working Conditions
  • Frequent driving in varying weather and road conditions.
  • Extended periods of sitting and operating a vehicle.
  • Early morning, daytime, nighttime, and weekend work required.
  • Rotating day and night schedules based on operational needs.
  • Split-shift schedule designed to support crew change transportation requirements.
  • Exposure to mining and industrial work environments during employee pickups and drop-offs.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to safely enter and exit vehicles multiple times per shift.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.
