Job description

Managed Funds Association (MFA), based in Washington, D.C., New York City, Brussels, and London, represents the global alternative asset management industry. MFA’s mission is to advance the ability of alternative asset managers to raise capital, invest it, and generate returns for their beneficiaries. MFA advocates on behalf of its membership and convenes stakeholders to address global regulatory, operational, and business issues. MFA has more than 180 fund manager members, including traditional hedge funds, private credit funds, and hybrid funds, that employ a diverse set of investment strategies. Member firms help pension plans, university endowments, charitable foundations, and other institutional investors diversify their investments, manage risk, and generate attractive returns throughout the economic cycle.


MFA, based in Washington, DC, New York, Brussels and London, represents the global alternative asset management industry. Program Duration: This internship spans the full 2026–2027 academic year and is divided into two sessions:

· Session I: September 22 – November 19, 2026

· Session II: January 6 – April 8, 2027


  • Conduct research on key industry trends and topics within alternative asset management as well as potential speakers for conferences and events.
  • Support the management of data associated with the programming function, particularly around speaker recruitment and onboarding; help maintain internal databases and tracking documents.
  • Assist with development and review of content for various marketing channels, including website, email, social media ; ensure content on external channels is accurate and up to date.
  • Review and edit event collateral and marketing assets to ensure accuracy and quality
  • Support the content and programming team with speaker prep-calls, including (but not limited to) scheduling meetings, taking notes, and preparing speaker briefs.
  • Support in-person and virtual events, including membership meetings, forums, seminars, and conferences.
  • Support ongoing research projects related to the growth, strategic direction, and monetization of MFA events.
  • Support the event team on-site, including speaker management, registration support, and facilitating audience Q&A, as well as other event-day responsibilities as needed.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings.
  • Develop and present a capstone intern research project.

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program. Business, Marketing, Events, Communications, and related programs are preferred.
  • Available to work at least 20 hours minimum per week.
  • Able to commit to both 2026 and 2027 sessions.
  • Available to work during MFA’s hybrid hours (9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.), in the NY office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional remote work on Monday and Friday. Daily hours are flexible, but in-person attendance on T/W/Th is required.
  • During the internship, we will be hosting several of our flagship events, which may require earlier start times on conference days. Interns are expected to maintain a flexible schedule and be available to support event operations as needed.
  • Excellent research skills and meticulous attention to detail, with the ability to synthesize broad and diverse information into clear, compelling narratives.
  • Interest in AI and its applications within content development and marketing functions is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented culture that values the importance of being a good teammate, communicator, and partner.  
  • Demonstrated ability to self-start, think ahead, problem solve, and engage proactively with high professionalism, reliability, and accountability.  
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
  • A strong interest in the financial services industry is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with HTML, WordPress, or customer relationship management systems (CRM) is a plus.
