JOB DESCRIPTION:
Looking for a Junior level Counterparty Credit Risk Analyst / Associate for the Financial Institutions Group in NY (Non-Bank Financial Institutions to include Insurance Companies, Broker-Dealers, Investment Managers, Fund Families, Hedge and Mutual Funds, Financial Sponsors including Capital Call Facilities and others).
High Level Responsibilities:
  • Data entry and Risk Rating Modelling for Financial Sponsor, Capital Call LP's
  • Financial Institutions credit analysis for U.S. and Latin American entities (Bank and Non-Bank Financial Institutions, Insurance companies, Investment Managers and Funds, Financial Sponsors) for the U.S. Broker Dealer of BBVA
  • Counterparty Risk and Settlement monitoring for trading via NY Branch and U.S. Broker-Dealer
  • Counterparty Credit Limit approvals for Onboarding of Counterparties in NY for the Broker-dealer and NY Branch
  • Understanding of products that include Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange, DVP trading, Repo trading, Structured Finance, SBLC and Capital Call Facilities
  • Provide timely and accurate reports when needed to follow-up on monitoring and results for trading activity and limit requests
  • Ability to maintain credit files and folders to make sure everything is accurate to field internal audits and credit quality control
  • Ability to handle oneself in potentially high stress environment with occasion crunch time deadlines

Other Responsibilities
  • Monitors the risk quality and credit process as established in the monitoring & follow up policy.
  • Provides data to prepare reports with trends and ratios of risk metrics.
  • Analyze quality risk indicators (trends, variations, problems) to minimize losses (less complex analysis).
  • Provide timely and accurate reports to the Monitoring & Follow up Committee, Board, Spain, etc to allow them to make decisions regarding credit quality and ratings.

Education/Experience
Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics or related field with a minimum of 3+ years of experience in Finance, Credit Risk, or Underwriting, Loan Review experience.

Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
