Commercial Credit and Operations Manager

Community Choice Credit Union is seeking an experienced Commercial Credit and Operations Manager to lead the operational activities supporting our small business and commercial lending portfolios. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient, compliant, accurate, and well-documented loan origination, credit analysis, servicing, reporting, and portfolio-management practices—all while delivering an excellent member experience.

In this position, you will lead and develop the Commercial Operations team, oversee credit quality and portfolio reporting, strengthen operational processes, and collaborate with internal and external partners to support sustainable portfolio growth.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead, coach, and develop a knowledgeable, service-focused Commercial Operations team.
  • Oversee commercial credit analysis, including cash-flow calculations, debt-service analysis, risk ratings, and credit packages.
  • Ensure timely completion of annual reviews, financial statement collection, tax monitoring, exception tracking, and SBA reporting.
  • Monitor and report portfolio risk, concentration levels, credit quality, workout loans, and restructures.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable lending regulations, NCUA requirements, and Community Choice’s Member Business Loan Policy.
  • Review monthly and quarterly reporting for accuracy and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Use data, technology, and AI-supported tools to evaluate portfolio trends, risks, and operational performance.
  • Improve workflows to provide timely, competitive, and member-focused lending processes.
  • Collaborate with Retail, Accounting, Member Solutions, Technology, Marketing, Human Resources, Commercial Alliance, and other business partners.
  • Support cross-referrals and help expand relationships with business members.
  • Review and approve appraisal and environmental orders and maintain appropriate lending authority.
  • Participate in departmental projects, new business initiatives, and mergers as needed.
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Progressive experience in business or commercial lending, lending operations, or a related field.
  • Commercial credit analyst experience.
  • Previous leadership experience with demonstrated success coaching and developing team members.
  • Strong knowledge of financial services, commercial lending products, and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience developing business plans, managing budgets, improving processes, and using reporting to drive results.
  • Ability to delegate effectively, promote accountability, and build strong working relationships.
