This role owns collections strategy, team leadership, and continuous process improvement, partnering closely with Revenue Accounting, Sales, and Customer Success to reduce risk, resolve disputes, and scale collections operations as the business grows.
What is the role?
This role combines hands-on collections expertise with people leadership and operational ownership. You will manage and develop the collections team, oversee complex customer portfolios, improve systems and procedures, and drive accountability around aging, dispute resolution, and cash application across multiple payment platforms.
Who is DOOR?

We believe smarter buildings make life simpler. At DOOR, you'll help shape a future where buildings anticipate needs, operate effortlessly, and quietly improve life for everyone inside.
What will you do?
  • Lead and manage the Collections team, including coaching, performance management, prioritization, and development.
  • Own the end-to-end collections strategy for enterprise and B2B customers, balancing cash recovery with strong customer relationships.
  • Oversee aging reports and drive proactive outreach to reduce past-due balances and delinquency.
  • Establish and continuously improve collections processes, policies, and procedures to support scale and efficiency.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Revenue Accounting, Sales, Customer Success, and Legal to resolve disputes, credit issues, and contract-related matters.
  • Oversee cash application activities, ensuring accurate and timely application of payments (Lockbox, ACH, credit cards, wire transfers, credits, etc.).
  • Manage and evaluate customer credit risk, including review of credit applications, credit limits, and holds.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and maintenance of customer records, tax documentation, and compliance requirements.
  • Leverage and optimize payment platforms and systems to improve visibility, reporting, and collection outcomes.
  • Prepare and present collections metrics, aging trends, and risk insights to leadership.
  • Support audits, reporting needs, and special projects related to accounts receivable and collections.
What do you bring to DOOR?
  • 5+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable and/or Collections, with prior experience managing or leading a collections team.
  • Proven experience handling enterprise and B2B collections across a diverse customer base.
  • Strong understanding of collections best practices, credit risk management, dispute resolution, and cash application.
  • Experience working with multiple payment methods and platforms.
  • Ability to design, document, and improve collections processes and procedures.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to navigate difficult conversations professionally and diplomatically.
  • Highly collaborative mindset with experience partnering cross-functionally.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret aging data, identify trends, and drive action.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, and accounting/ERP systems (NetSuite experience is a plus).
  • Experience in real estate, proptech, SaaS, or technology environments is a plus!
DOOR understands that job requirements sometimes exclude people who identify with historically marginalized groups from applying to jobs for which they are qualified. Even if you don't meet 100% of the requirements listed, or if you achieved these requirements through unconventional channels, we encourage you to apply.
What is required (travel & physical requirements)?
  • This role will work in-person 3-4 days per week and from home 1-2 days per week
