What you'll be doing

ThePortfolio Manager primary purpose is to ensureobjectivesrelated to credit underwriting and internal portfolio management are met, in addition to supporting the workflow of the Commercial Team of RMs and commercial lending associates. This position will provide approval within established guidelines for daily credit/portfolio administrative activity. ThePortfolio Manager will be responsible for but not limited to the following activities.Primary responsibilities for this position will be that of Underwriting and Portfolio Managementandexecutionof 1A risk management activities in a manner consistent with CIBC's risk culture.

How you'll succeed

Client Relationship Management - Serve as the primary contact for portfolio-related issues, reporting, maintenance, and new requests on existing credit. Lead renewal activities and maintain engagement through client calls and visits.


Portfolio Maintenance - Ensure timely completion of maturities, annual reviews, and collection of financial reporting and covenants. Support closing teams and address outstanding loan document exceptions, real estate taxes, and insurance certificates.


Credit Underwriting & Risk Management - Prepare CAMP reports, quarterly trend cards, FAS 114 memos, and SOX controls. Approve risk ratings, review borrowing base availability, and approve loan advances while ensuring compliance with CIBC's risk policies.


Client Onboarding & Closing - Drive loan closing processes with internal teams, coordinate onboarding, deposit account opening, and Treasury Management (TM) setup activities.


Cross-Selling & Client Penetration - Collaborate with Relationship Managers to identify cross-sell opportunities and ensure accurate pricing and fees through regular reviews.


Team Training & Mentorship - Mentor and provide situational training support to Associates and Senior Associates, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing.

This role has an expected salary range of$120,000.00 - $135,000.00 for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible toparticipatein the relevant business unit's incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonuscomponent.
