Job description

Overview

Hudson Valley Credit Union is currently recruiting for a Banking Risk Quality Assurance Specialist. Responsible for evaluating and monitoring the quality of work produced in Branch locations for adherence to process and procedures as they relate to collectability, credit, compliance and risk. Assesses Branch performance and collaborate with leadership to develop and implement process efficiencies and adherence strategies.


Responsibilities
  • Conduct independent quality assurance work audits including but not limited to teller transactions, ACH and Wire transactions, originated and finalized consumer loans, (including home equity, business purpose loans), new memberships, accounts and account maintenance.
  • Analyze findings for trends and errors relating to system or manual process, fraud, procedure and/or training concerns. Identify system, workflow and process problems and recommend resolutions.
  • Document findings and trends. Compile results and report to appropriate department management for review and response. Report material findings to the VP of Branch Operation immediately.
  • Accountable for the branch internal audit results. Discusses audit findings and assists management in developing resolutions as necessary.
  • Act as a liaison between Banking Division departments and Operations Support leadership to review error trends and identify/evaluate learning interventions. Provide feedback on training curriculum as applicable.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of branch processes and procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Maintain a continuous improvement culture across the banking division network. Personally observes activities and member interactions to identify employee and member pain points. Report and recommend improvement to Banking Risk Management.
  • Work with the branches to resolve large cash differences and facilitate investigations.
  • Act as a resource for all operations support functions on a wide range of issues..
  • Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained knowledge. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Embrace and apply HVCU’s guiding principles to all activities and responsibilities. This includes the Credit Union’s Mission, Vision, Core Values, Employee and Member Value Propositions, Sales and Service Model, and commitment to Lean Six Sigma practices. Support the Credit Union’s initiatives by demonstrating teamwork and professionalism.
  • Responsible for regular and predictable attendance including punctuality.

  • Associates Degree or at least 2 years equivalent experience for each undergraduate year not completed, preferred
  • Minimum 2 Years experience in Branch operations/quality control, required
  • Valid NYS Driver's License, required
