Job SummaryThe Vice President Consumer Lending provides executive leadership for Mountain America's Direct Consumer Lending organization, translating enterprise priorities into accountable business performance, portfolio outcomes, profitability, operational execution, regulatory readiness, and sustainable growth. This role oversees direct and indirect reporting relationships, develops future-ready talent, and partners across the credit union to strengthen alignment, execution discipline, and member-focused results.Job Description

  • Shape the future-state Direct Consumer Lending strategy by aligningproducts, channels, technology, risk, and member experience priorities to support sustainable enterprise growth.

  • Develop and execute annual and long-term strategies that support member growth, loan growth, profitability, and portfolio performance.

  • Create andmaintainan organizational culture focused on exceptional member experiences, accountability, ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement.

  • Ensure responsible management of portfolio performance, credit quality, profitability, and emerging credit risk indicators through proactive monitoring and predictive insights.

  • Advance the responsible use of data, predictive analytics, automation, and AI-enabled decisioning to improve speed, consistency, risk management, personalization, and member outcomes.

  • Lead the evolution of digital and omnichannel lending experiences to simplify the member journey, improve approval and funding speed, and increase adoption of self-service and assisted-service capabilities.

  • Oversee operational performance and ensure service standards are consistently achieved.

  • PartnersacrossLending, Member Service, Technology, Marketing, Asset Management, Loan Servicing, Finance, Enterprise Risk, Fraud, Compliance, and other functions to align priorities, improve execution, and achieve organizationalobjectives.

  • Provide executive oversight for compliance and risk management across Direct Consumer Lending, including adherence to applicable CFPB and NCUA requirements, credit union policies, internal audit findings, and remediation activities.

  • Maintain and exercise formal lending authority consistent with established credit union policy, risk appetite, approval limits, and governance expectations for consumer lending decisions.

  • Support regulatory governance throughappropriate controls, reporting, issue resolution, and board-or regulatory-ready documentation in partnership with Enterprise Risk, Compliance, Legal, Internal Audit, and executive leadership.

  • Allocate resources,establishexecution discipline, and monitor progress against strategic and operational priorities.

  • Enhance organizational efficiency byeliminatingcomplexity and creating scalable operating models.

  • Evaluate market conditions, industry trends, competitive offerings, and emerging technologies toidentifygrowth opportunities.

  • Develop andmaintainstrategic vendor partnerships, ensuring products, technologies, and services align with businessobjectives, support member experience goals, and deliver long-term value to the credit union.

  • Build future-ready lending talent by developing leadership capability, digital fluency, analytical judgment, change readiness, and succession depth across the Consumer Lending organization.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

Experience

  • 10 years of progressive consumer lending leadership experience, including strategy, portfolio performance, risk management, and team leadership.

  • Executive leadership experience in a banking, credit union, or financial services environment with accountability for business performance, member/customer experience, and regulatory expectations.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree inBusiness, Finance, Economics, Management, or related field;or an equivalent combination of education andsignificant executive-level consumer lending, financial services, or business leadershipexperience.

Licenses, Certifications, Registrations

  • N/A; relevantlending, risk, compliance, or financial servicescertificationspreferred but notrequired.

Computer/TechnologySkills

  • Demonstrated ability toleveragelending systems, digital platforms, data analytics, automation, and AI-enabled capabilities to improve member experience, operational efficiency, portfolio performance, and risk management.

  • Working knowledge of loan origination systems, digital lending tools, reporting platforms, workflow automation, collaboration tools, and vendor technology solutions.

  • Ability to interpret and act on dashboards, portfolio reporting, operational metrics, financial performance data, and emerging risk indicators to inform executive decision-making.

Language Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate ideas,methodology, results, recommendations, and outcomes verbally, in writing, through reports and visual presentations, and in a mannerappropriate forkey stakeholders and all levels of the organization.
