Job description

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Responsible for providing competent credit analysis for lending activities, assistance in the administration of borrowing accounts, conduct appraisal reviews, and assistance in completion of special projects and assignments. Processed credit applications; verifies credit references and information; and determines credit limits. Prepares reports on the status of credit and collections, and other operating systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position must effectively carry-out the essential duties in a manner that consistently demonstrates the core values of Notre Dame Federal Credit Union in a positive manner.

  • Completes a thorough, in-depth analysis of new commercial credit requests, credit change requests, renewals and annual relationship reviews. Recommend risk rating changes when analysis merits.
  • Prepare spreadsheets, reports, summaries and opinions for lenders on new, renewal and existing loans. Reports finds to Director of Commercial Credit that may have an adverse effect on the loan collateral or the borrows ability to repay the loan.
  • Completing loan application forms and submitting to loan committees for approval with notes and opinions. Ensures company credit exposures on assigned loans are within set risk bearing limits.
  • Completes loan work-ups and proper execution to ensure adequate enforceability of company's position for new and existing loans reviewed. This includes loan details, document review, financial copies, approvals, etc.
  • Determines that loan file documentation is complete and properly executed to ensure adequate enforceability of the company's position for all new loan reviewed.
  • Lead or assist with projects that will consist primarily of credit administration issues and may relate to possible changes in policies and procedure, possible changes as a result of examiner or auditor recommendations, peer group analysis, market studies, changes in compliance and regulations, software upgrades, monitoring or industry or borrower concentrations, risk assessments, and feasibility studies for efficiency gains such as out-sourcing, in-sourcing, centralization of duties/staff, etc.
  • Prepares various reports for the Board. Provides regulators and auditors with information needed to assess company's compliance with loan review policies and procedures and reserve adequacy methods.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This position will require the knowledge to effectively process Commercial loan applications, establishes and maintains internal controls, maintains security controls, controls loan quality, and analyzes loan products to attain the lending goals and objectives of the Credit Union. A professional appearance and attitude as well as the ability to communicate, coach, counsel, and motivate the staff to accomplish goals is necessary.
