Fractional Enterprise Transformation Architect
Role Summary
We are looking for a senior Enterprise Transformation Architect to support enterprise modernization assessments for mid-market and enterprise clients. This is not a pure ERP implementation role. The right person can assess current-state technology environments, facilitate executive and technical discovery, evaluate ERP and enterprise platform strategies, and help produce board-ready modernization roadmaps.
15-20% travel to client site in NYC
What This Person Will Do
Lead enterprise modernization assessments for clients preparing for growth, global expansion, or major operating model changes.
Assess current-state architecture, application portfolios, ERP environments, integrations, data flows, security boundaries, and platform strategy.
Facilitate executive and technical workshops with business, finance, operations, IT, security, and product stakeholders.
Develop future-state architecture options, modernization roadmaps, risk assessments, and implementation sequencing.
Evaluate ERP and enterprise platform strategies, including when to replace, extend, integrate, or rationalize existing systems.
Create executive-ready deliverables, including board presentations, transformation roadmaps, investment recommendations, and technology operating model guidance.
Required Experience
Consulting, enterprise architecture, digital transformation, or technology strategy experience.
Candidate has led enterprise modernization, ERP strategy, application rationalization, or operating model transformation initiatives.
Experience advising companies with multi-entity, multinational, manufacturing, government contracting, or operationally complex environments.
Strong executive presence and ability to work directly with C-suite leaders, private equity stakeholders, and senior technical teams.
Demonstrated experience producing board-level or executive-level transformation roadmaps
Key Skills
Enterprise architecture: current-state assessment, future-state design, technical debt identification, application rationalization, and integration strategy.
ERP and financial systems: ERP selection, ERP modernization, financial management strategy, manufacturing systems, and platform governance. Experience with Infor, Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite preferred.
Microsoft ecosystem: Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Azure, and governance of custom Microsoft-based solutions.
Security and compliance: GCC, GCC High, CUI environments, security boundary design, data classification, and enterprise governance.
AI and automation: ability to identify practical AI, automation, workflow modernization, and operating model opportunities without needing to be a data scientist.
Ideal Background
Former enterprise architecture, digital transformation, ERP strategy, or technology modernization consultant from firms such as Accenture, Deloitte, EY, KPMG, PwC, Slalom, West Monroe, Point B, Credera, Hitachi Solutions, Avanade, or similar.
Experience in manufacturing, government contracting, industrial services, private equity portfolio companies, or complex operational businesses.
Comfortable operating independently as a senior client-facing advisor rather than requiring heavy oversight.

Not an ERP administrator.
Not a Power Apps developer.
Not a pure ERP implementation consultant.
Not a pure project manager or coordinator.
Not a tool-specific solution architect focused on one platform only.
Not a hands-on engineer as the primary role.
