Job description

As a pediatric Occupational Therapist, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young individuals by providing tailored therapy interventions to support their development and well-being. Your expertise in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating children with various developmental challenges will be invaluable in helping them reach their full potential.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conducts assessments and standardized evaluations (BDI, Peabody, HELP, VBMAPP etc.) across developmental domains to determine eligibility and ongoing needs.

  • In partnership with families, develops multidisciplinary strategies for a child’s IFSP to address routine activities.

  • Assist team with transition of child out of Birth to Three.

  • Provides supervision to OT fieldwork students as needed.

  • Writes quality IFSPs that meet state, federal and agency requirements

  • Participates in team meetings as requested

All Candidates Must Maintain:

  • A valid driver’s license

  • A current auto insurance policy

  • Approved Crisis Intervention Certification (e.g., Safety Care, CPI, PMT)


Minimum Qualification

  • Maintains license by the Department of Public Health under § 20-74b C.G.S.


Minimum Physical Requirements:

Ability to move easily between sitting and standing. Ability to maintain a safe, supportive environment by quickly responding to clients as needed (i.e. blocking unsafe behavior or quickly moving to reinforce positive behavior) and following all agency health and safety policies.
