Social Media Manager (Part-Time)


We are seeking a Part-Time Social Media Manager, to work 20 hours a week, for content creation and management of social media accounts. Work can be performed either remotely or in person, with the possibility of transitioning from a part-time to full-time position. This person will work with our marketing team to develop a consistent message, while gaining experience in medical marketing and content creation.


Qualifications:

  • Well-versed with social media platforms (Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Reddit, etc.)
  • Capable of creating creative content that fits with a brand identity
  • Ability to meet deadlines, respond to messages in a timely manner, proactive in communicating with their team
  • Ability to take direction, work with a team, and is responsive to feedback
  • Ability to creatively market and showcase our products and services to potential patients through compelling content
  • Proactive in researching unfamiliar topics and maintaining knowledge of social media and relevant topics (e.g. bariatrics, medical weight loss injections, advanced body reconstruction)
  • Reads media, engages with social media, and follows social media trends
  • Plus: interest in healthcare, science, or technical writing, experience managing professional social media accounts, and strong writing ability (e.g. copywriter, creative writer, English major)


Requirements:

  • Available to work at least 20 hours during the week, between 10 AM and 6 PM EST, with flexibility to work some hours over the weekend
  • Experience managing professional social media accounts and creating professional content (written, visual, video) for social media
  • Strong writing and research skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Affinity and comfort with social media platforms, active social media user, and familiarity with current social media trends
  • Professional demeanor and ability to use professional writing
  • Ability to use various photo editing software, such as Photoshop, Adobe Suite, Canva, or equivalent
  • Ability to use various video editing software to create and post 15-30 second content, such as Final Cut Pro, Adobe Suite, Canva, or equivalent
  • Ability to use variety of software applications consistent with our policy of forthright honest disclosure and consistent with not violating copyright or plagiarism


Responsibilities, including but not limited to:.


Social Media Strategy and Content Management

  • Assist team in the design, execution, and management of content across various platforms
  • Manage social media accounts for 2-3 professional users, ensuring each account has unique social media campaigns
  • Ensure brand message is consistent
  • Ensure consistent, regular posts with all required disclosures across social media accounts with a professional tone


Content Creation

  • Create and distribute content such as gifs, videos, and photos on social media
  • Support in the creative process by designing graphics and producing short video content, such as reels, to effectively showcase patient stories and educate future patients
  • Create compelling graphics aimed at sharing across social channels
  • Write social media captions that speak to the target audience
  • Help create and edit short form videos
  • Propose and develop content campaigns in collaboration with marketing team
  • Research social media posts for competitors, recent medical journal articles, and news media to create relevant and accurate social media posts


Community Management

  • Demonstrate an ability to establish and grow an organic social community
  • Assist in monitoring comments on social media posts, engaging with followers, and identifying and flagging posts where the client has been tagged or mentioned
  • Organize and prioritize comments and engagement on social media that need responses from team members; direct to the appropriate team members (e.g., patient service representatives, dietitians, physicians)
  • Track social media engagement
  • Identify high-performing ideas and trends across social media and integrate into postings
