Job description

The Department of Writing at the University of Alaska, Anchorage offers courses leading to and including Tier 1 Writing Literacy General Education Requirements. This includes all 0- , 100- level, and 200-level Writing courses.
Adjunct positions are on a semester-by-semester basis. Successful acceptance into the adjunct pool does not guarantee an offer of an appointment. This is an adjunct labor pool and applicants are hired based on departmental need.
Knowledge of accepted instruction methods. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Public speaking skills. Student support skills.
2 Years relevant experience, preferably in adult education settings, with graduate level coursework in the teaching of writing.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in English, Composition and Rhetoric, Creative Writing, or TESOL.
Position Details:
This is a part-time, adjunct instructor position. Minimum salaries are set by the United Academic - Adjunct, AAUP-AT/AFL-CIO collective bargaining agreement. Salaries may vary based upon education and experience.
