Description
The Corporate Communications Specialist plays a key role in shaping how BBNC shares its story with the public and engages its employees. This position supports both external and internal communications, safeguards brand consistency, and drives social media strategy across BBNC's platforms. The role ensures the public remains informed and engaged while helping employees stay connected to corporate priorities, maintaining a clear, consistent BBNC voice across every channel.
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
Public Communications
  • Manage, update, and continually enhance content for BBNC social media platforms and digital media efforts, including campaigns, graphics, and podcasts, to grow, reach, and strengthen audience engagement
  • Create shareable content appropriate for specific networks to build a sense of community across each channel
  • Create marketing materials and corporate collateral that reflect BBNC's people, cultures, and region
  • Collaborate closely with the communications team and external creative agencies to advance BBNC priorities across print, digital, podcast, and video platforms

Internal Communications
  • Share key organizational stories, updates, accomplishments, initiatives, and recognition across BBNC to keep employees informed and engaged
  • Strengthen alignment with corporate strategy by helping employees understand company priorities, direction, and organizational goals
  • Support department leaders by guiding BBNC's voice, messaging, consistency, and coordination on employee-facing communications
  • Equip employees with the information they need to feel connected, confident, and prepared to represent BBNC effectively
  • Develop compelling presentations, newsletters, and materials that clearly communicate corporate priorities and initiatives to internal audiences

Brand Management
  • Champion and safeguard BBNC's corporate brand, ensuring consistency and excellence in brand voice and messaging across all platforms company-wide
  • Provide marketing and communications support to BBNC departments and subsidiary companies to maintain a unified brand presence
  • Manage the ordering and distribution of branded merchandise to support departmental initiatives and corporate events
  • Manage inventory and sales of branded merchandise

Digital Media
  • Capture photography and video content to support corporate storytelling, events, campaigns, and executive communications
  • Maintain and organize digital assets, ensuring proper archival and accessibility of electronic documents and media

Additional Responsibilities
  • Support production of corporate publications and public-facing communications to elevate BBNC's visibility and reputation
  • Provide administrative support to department leadership
  • Additional projects and duties that support evolving communications goals

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in copywriting and editing with strong attention to detail, including thorough knowledge of proper grammar, vocabulary, spelling, and proofreading
  • Skilled in creating, editing, and promoting written and visual content that meets brand guidelines
  • Knowledge and experience managing corporate or business social media channels
  • Ability to work independently, multitask, and perform multiple duties on short notice
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent PC skills, including advanced experience with MS Office applications and desktop publishing in Adobe Creative Suite and Canva
  • Advanced understanding of the latest marketing and communication tools and trends
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Approachable, builds rapport well with people of all backgrounds and experiences, and practices attentive and active listening
  • Ability to learn and navigate various platforms and software

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field with 3-5 years of experience in marketing and/or communications roles
  • Graphic and publication design experience
  • Photography, photo editing, audio recording and editing, and video editing experience
  • Familiarity with the Bristol Bay region, people, and cultures, and Alaska Native Corporations
  • Familiarity with ANCSA

Physical Demands:
