Job Description

Are you an experienced traffic engineer looking to play a key role in shaping some of the nation's fastest-growing data center developments? As a Licensed Professional Engineer on Olsson's Traffic & Technology team, you will lead traffic studies and transportation analyses for mission-critical data center projects across the United States.

In this role, you will evaluate transportation impacts, develop technical recommendations, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support the planning, permitting, and design of new and expanding data center facilities. You'll work directly with clients, project teams, and public agencies while helping deliver innovative transportation solutions for complex, high-profile developments.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead various stages of traffic and transportation analysis and design for data center developments across the United States.
  • Analyze transportation data and roadway operations to assess site access, circulation, traffic impacts, and infrastructure needs.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, exhibits, and recommendations that support project planning, permitting, and design efforts.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and serve as a technical resource during project development, client coordination, and agency discussions.
  • Apply sound engineering judgment, industry standards, and regulatory requirements while managing multiple project responsibilities and deliverables.
  • Training and mentoring EIT staff on traffic engineering and project management principles.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.

  • Minimum of 4 years of traffic or transportation engineering experience.
  • Experience preparing traffic impact studies, transportation analyses, or traffic operations evaluations, and/or traffic design
  • Self-motivation in project execution.
  • Experience coordinating with public agencies.
  • Working knowledge of traffic engineering principles, transportation planning concepts, and applicable design standards.
