About the Pottery Barn Creative Team 

At Pottery Barn, creativity is at the heart of how we inspire customers to create homes they love. Every season, our Creative team develops immersive stories, compelling campaigns and elevated brand experiences that come to life across digital, retail, catalog, social, packaging and emerging channels.

The Vice President, Creative Design & Brand Storytelling is responsible for shaping how the Pottery Barn brand is expressed across every customer touchpoint. This leader oversees the brand's design language, graphic systems, copy and storytelling, ensuring every experience reflects the warmth, authenticity and timeless design that define Pottery Barn.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Creative, this role partners closely with the Vice President of Photography to create a unified seasonal vision-from early concept development through final execution. Together, these leaders establish the creative direction for the brand: one leading visual imagery and photography, the other leading design, narrative and brand expression.

Overview 

The Vice President of Creative Design & Brand Storytelling leads the creative strategy and execution for all graphic design, brand design systems, copywriting and customer-facing storytelling across Pottery Barn.

This executive will oversee the teams responsible for:

Graphic Design

Site Design (UX/UI Creative)

Catalog Design

Packaging Design

Organic Social & Paid Ad Design

Copywriting

They will establish and evolve Pottery Barn's visual identity while ensuring consistency across retail stores, ecommerce, catalogs, email, social media, paid media, packaging and future customer experiences.

This leader combines exceptional design sensibility with strategic thinking and editorial storytelling to create work that is emotionally engaging, commercially effective and unmistakably Pottery Barn.

Creative Leadership

Establish the graphic design vision for the Pottery Barn brand across every customer touchpoint.

Champion a cohesive design language that evolves the brand while protecting its heritage and distinctive aesthetic.

Lead the development of seasonal creative concepts, campaign systems and design frameworks that unify marketing across channels.

Partner with the Vice President of Photography to build fully integrated creative concepts from initial ideation through final execution.

Guide the development of compelling editorial storytelling that connects customers emotionally with the brand.

Ensure all design, typography, layout, illustration, motion graphics and copy reflect a premium and consistent brand experience.

Inspire innovative thinking while maintaining the timeless qualities that define Pottery Barn.

Brand Design & Creative Excellence

Serve as the steward of Pottery Barn's visual identity and brand standards.

Develop scalable design systems that create consistency across digital, print, retail and packaging.

Lead ongoing evolution of brand guidelines and creative standards.

Maintain excellence in typography, layout, hierarchy, color, iconography and overall graphic execution.

Review and approve creative work across all channels, ensuring exceptional quality and consistency.

Storytelling & Copy Leadership

Lead the creative direction for all customer-facing copy and editorial storytelling.

Ensure every headline, campaign message and product narrative reflects Pottery Barn's brand voice.

Partner with Marketing and Merchandising to create seasonal storytelling that inspires customers while supporting business priorities.

Elevate copy as an integral component of the creative process, ensuring words and design work seamlessly together.
