What is a Creative Technology?

A Creative Technology job blends technology and creativity to develop innovative digital experiences, products, and solutions. Professionals in this field work at the intersection of design, coding, and emerging technologies like AI, AR/VR, and interactive media. They collaborate with designers, developers, and strategists to create engaging and meaningful user experiences. Creative Technologists often prototype ideas, experiment with new tools, and push the boundaries of how technology can be used in art, marketing, and product development.

What skills and qualifications are needed for a creative technology role?

To thrive in Creative Technology, you need a blend of technical proficiency in programming, digital media, and interactive design, usually backed by a degree in computer science, design, or a related field. Familiarity with creative tools like Adobe Creative Suite, 3D modeling software, programming languages such as JavaScript or Python, and experience with AR/VR platforms or prototyping tools is highly valued. Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills help you collaborate effectively with both creative and technical teams. These abilities are crucial for developing innovative digital experiences that bridge the gap between technology and creative vision.

What are common challenges in a creative technology role, and how can I prepare for them?

Professionals in Creative Technology often navigate the difficulty of balancing artistic vision with technical feasibility, working within project timelines and resource constraints. You may also face rapid changes in technology and emerging tools, which requires continuous learning. Preparing for these challenges involves honing both your technical and creative problem-solving skills, staying current with industry trends, and being adaptable to shifting project requirements. Collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams is essential, so strong communication and openness to feedback will help you thrive in this dynamic environment.

What are some creative technology jobs?

Creative technology jobs include roles such as creative technologist, interactive developer, multimedia artist, and digital designer. These positions often require skills in programming, design, and familiarity with tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Unity, or Max/MSP, and may involve working on projects like installations, virtual reality experiences, or digital media content.

What can you do with a creative technology degree?

A creative technology degree prepares individuals for roles that combine creativity and technical skills, such as multimedia artist, interactive designer, or digital product developer. Graduates often work with tools like Adobe Creative Suite, programming languages, and hardware to develop innovative digital experiences across industries like entertainment, advertising, and education.

Job description

WE TAKE YOU ABOVE BEYOND

Take your passion to the next level and work alongside other masters of their craft to build a fulfilling and rewarding career at Marina Bay Sands.

JOB OVERVIEW:

As one of the most exciting integrated resorts in the world, Marina Bay Sands' Brand is much bigger than its

advertising. In this newly created role, we are looking to develop the clarity, impact, desire & intangible meaning that the best brands in the world imbue.

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Creative Technologist to develop compelling creative concepts using emerging tools and technologies that bring the concepts to life in new ways.

We are looking for a curious, driven, experienced individual to champion innovation across our creative output, using AI, motion, generative, interactive, and digital-first techniques to push the boundaries of how a luxury integrated resort brand can be experienced visually.

JOB SCOPE

  • Develop original creative concepts that intentionally leverage emerging technology. Generative AI, 3D, motion design, real-time rendering, interactive and immersive formats to produce distinctive brand experiences.
  • Act as the bridge between the creative and production teams and new tools, evaluating and introducing technologies that enhance creative output, speed, or scale.
  • Prototype and pressure-test new creative techniques and workflows, balancing innovation with the polish and integrity expected of a luxury brand.
  • Partner with photographers, filmmakers, designers, and external technology or production partners to integrate technology seamlessly into traditional production pipelines.
  • Provide creative and art direction across campaigns that blend traditional photography/film with digital, AI-assisted, or interactive elements.
  • Stay ahead of the curve on generative AI, digital production tools, and creative technology trends, translating them into practical applications for the brand.
  • Collaborate with brand, digital, and marketing teams to ensure technology-driven creative remains consistent with brand identity and elevates, rather than dilutes, the luxury positioning of Marina Bay Sands.
  • Establish best-practice guidelines and workflows for the responsible, high-quality use of creative technology across the team.
  • Present new creative and technological ideas persuasively to senior stakeholders, translating technical concepts into clear business and brand value.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You're someone who wants to solve complex challenges and can see the big picture for what the future can and should be, while being able to act upon that vision and drive the work forward today.

As a hospitality brand operating at the highest levels of luxury, we are looking for candidates who are well-traveled and comfortable in other cultures. Experience within the luxury, hospitality & fashion industry would be preferred.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong portfolio spanning both traditional art direction and technology-driven or experimental creative work.
  • Hands-on familiarity with generative AI tools, 3D/motion software, and digital or interactive production techniques.
  • Proven ability to conceive ideas that could only exist because of technology, not simply add technology after the fact.
  • Experience in luxury, hospitality, travel, entertainment, or lifestyle brand environments is a strong plus.
  • Excellent conceptual and visual storytelling skills paired with genuine curiosity for tools, platforms, and workflows.
  • Comfortable operating at the intersection of creative, technical, and production teams, with strong cross-functional communication skills.
  • A pioneering mindset, balanced with the judgment to know when technology serves the story and when it does not.

Marina Bay Sands is committed to building a diverse, equitable and inclusive workforce, providing equal opportunities as we grow our talent base to match our growth ambitions in Singapore. Our employees are committed to adhere to and abide by all rules, regulations, policies and procedures, including the rules of conduct and business ethics of the Company.
