What is creative psychology?

Creative psychology is a branch of psychology that explores the processes, traits, and conditions that foster creativity in individuals and groups. It examines how people generate new ideas, solve problems in innovative ways, and express themselves creatively across various domains, such as art, science, and everyday life. Creative psychologists study factors like motivation, environment, personality, and cognitive processes to understand and enhance creativity. Professionals in this field may also help clients overcome creative blocks and develop their creative potential.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Creative Psychologist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Creative Psychologist, you need a solid background in psychology (often with a master's or doctoral degree), counseling skills, and expertise in creative therapeutic techniques such as art or music therapy. Familiarity with psychological assessment tools, client management software, and certifications in specialized therapy modalities is typically required. Exceptional empathy, active listening, and adaptability help build trust and foster a supportive therapeutic environment. These skills are crucial to effectively address clients' mental health needs and promote healing through creative expression.

How does a Creative Psychologist typically collaborate with other professionals in multidisciplinary teams?

Creative Psychologists often work closely with educators, therapists, designers, and organizational leaders to develop innovative interventions and programs that foster creativity and well-being. Collaboration may involve regular team meetings, co-designing workshops, and integrating psychological insights into broader projects. Effective communication and adaptability are key, as the role requires translating psychological theories into practical strategies that align with team goals. This collaborative environment supports professional growth and allows for diverse perspectives to enhance outcomes.

Job description

Creative Is Not Decoration Here. It Is the Growth Lever.
We're Simply Nootropics (simplynootropics.com) - one of the fastest-growing health and wellness brands across Australia and New Zealand, serving over 100,000 customers with science-backed supplements designed to improve energy, focus, and long-term vitality.
We're also the team behind Tmrw (drinktmrw.com) - a premium longevity-focused daily health drink built around cellular health, NAD+ support, gut health, and healthy aging.
Two brands. Multiple markets. Aggressive growth targets. Paid social is one of our primary growth channels - and creative performance directly impacts revenue.
We're looking for a Creative Strategy Lead who can turn audience insight and performance data into scalable, high-converting paid social concepts across both brands. This role is equal parts strategist, analyst, and hands-on executor. You won't just "come up with ideas." You'll build structured testing pipelines, extract insights from performance data, develop repeatable creative frameworks, and raise the performance baseline quarter after quarter.
If you understand hooks at a molecular level, live inside ad libraries, and obsess over iteration cycles - keep reading.
The Role
You will own creative strategy across paid social for both Simply Nootropics and Tmrw.
You'll work directly with our Head of Creative, media buyers, designers, editors, and creator teams across markets. Your thinking, frameworks, and execution will directly influence growth across two global wellness brands.
What You'll Own
Creative Strategy, Concepting & UGC
Develop high-performing paid social concepts across all markets for both brands. Translate audience insights, product messaging, and performance data into creative angles and hooks. Lead concept development from brief through to execution. Stay hands-on - you'll be scripting, writing copy, and shaping concepts yourself, not just directing from a distance.
Develop strategic, performance-driven UGC briefs across products and markets. Collaborate with our Creator Coordinator to brief, review, and iterate on creator content. Identify hooks, angles, and video formats that are driving results across the category. Ensure all output meets platform specs, brand guidelines, and compliance requirements for both brands.
This is performance-led, hypothesis-driven creative - not random ideas thrown at a wall.
Performance Analysis & Optimisation
Analyse creative performance data across both Simply Nootropics and Tmrw to identify what's working, what isn't, and why. Define and track creative KPIs across markets, formats, and both brands. Translate performance signals into actionable creative iterations. Work closely with paid media to align creative strategy with scaling decisions.
You should be as comfortable reading a dashboard and making strategic calls from data as you are writing a script.
Testing & Iteration Systems
Build and manage a structured creative testing pipeline with clear hypotheses and documented learnings across both brands. Feed iteration cycles back into strategy to continuously raise the performance baseline. We want compounding improvement - not random spikes.
Requirements
  • 3+ years experience in creative strategy, performance marketing, or paid social for consumer brands
  • Strong background in performance-driven creative, particularly on Meta and TikTok
  • Proven track record of developing scalable, winning ad concepts - not just one-off hits
  • Strong scripting and copywriting ability - you can write, not just brief
  • Deep understanding of hooks, angles, storytelling frameworks, and conversion psychology
  • Comfortable analysing performance data and translating insights into creative decisions
  • Experience working cross-functionally with media buyers and creative production teams
  • Experience managing structured testing pipelines with documented learning loops
  • Strong understanding of DTC or eCommerce growth environments

Nice to have:
  • Experience in supplements, wellness, longevity, or health brands
  • Experience briefing and managing UGC creators at scale
  • Familiarity with compliance considerations in health and wellness marketing
  • Agency background with performance creative delivery

Benefits
  • Competitive salary depending on experience
  • Fully remote - work from anywhere
  • Access to the best tools - VEO3, Higgsfield, Motion, Aytria, custom Claude AI tools, Frame, TripleWhale and more
  • Work alongside an internal team of creative strategists, designers, talent coordinators, video editors, media buyers, and partnerships teams
  • Direct impact on revenue and growth across two fast-scaling global wellness brands
  • Clear ownership and real autonomy over creative strategy
  • A no-politics, flat management structure that is results-focused
  • Product and health allowance every month
  • Opportunity to build scalable creative systems - not just ship one-off campaigns
  • Opportunity to grow as the brands expand internationally
  • Work alongside team members across NZ, Australia, US, UK, SEA and UAE
