Project Manager

Asphalt Contractors, Inc. – Union Grove, WI

Position Summary

The Project Manager oversees construction projects from award through completion, ensuring jobs are completed safely, on schedule, within scope, and within budget. This role coordinates customers, field operations, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams while taking ownership of project communication, documentation, financial performance, and closeout.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review contracts, estimates, plans, specifications, quantities, and project requirements.
  • Coordinate project startup and handoff between estimating and operations.
  • Manage multiple active paving, grading, excavation, concrete, and related construction projects.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, general contractors, engineers, and other project stakeholders.
  • Coordinate schedules, materials, subcontractors, trucking, and project requirements with field operations.
  • Monitor project costs, production, schedule, and profitability.
  • Identify, document, price, and obtain approval for change-order work.
  • Review completed quantities and assist with accurate and timely billing.
  • Visit project sites regularly and address project issues before they impact cost, schedule, or customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain organized project documentation and communication.
  • Coordinate punch lists, final billing, and project closeout.
  • Participate in post-project reviews to improve future estimating and operations.
Qualifications
  • Construction project management, estimating, or field leadership experience preferred.
  • Asphalt paving, excavation, grading, concrete, civil, or sitework experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read construction plans, specifications, contracts, and proposals.
  • Understanding of job costing, construction scheduling, and project financials.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to local project sites.
