The Total Rewards Manager provides program management and operational leadership across Total Rewards initiatives, with a primary focus on payroll alignment, compliance, system governance, and cross-functional implementation of enterprise Total Rewards programs. This role partners closely with Total Rewards, HRIS, Payroll, and Finance to ensure accurate execution, process consistency, and regulatory compliance across compensation, benefits, and leave programs. The position works in tandem with the Engagement and Wellbeing Manager on employee experience initiatives while supporting the organization's Total Rewards strategy through structured project oversight, vendor coordination, and continuous process improvement.

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of five (5) years of Human Resources experience in Total Rewards, including benefits, compensation, payroll coordination, HRIS-supported program administration, or related program management
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience navigating HRIS systems and extracting data for reporting, auditing, or compliance support
  • Working knowledge of IRS benefit plan requirements, FLSA, COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, and related federal and state regulations
  • Demonstrated project management experience, including coordinating work across matrixed teams and stakeholders
  • Strong analytical, reporting, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, negotiation, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Business, Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, or related field
  • Experience supporting payroll or timekeeping processes, accrual programs, or HRIS/payroll system integrations
  • Experience coordinating Total Rewards program implementations or vendor-supported initiatives
  • Experience in healthcare or similarly regulated environments
  • Experience with Workday, UKG (Kronos), or HealthStream
  • Professional certification such as CEBS, PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SCP, or PMP
  • Working knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance reporting

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate governance and ongoing oversight of PTO accrual programs, ensuring alignment between policy intent, HRIS/timekeeping configuration, payroll processing, and reporting; lead accrual audits, support corrections, and manage change control for system updates and policy or regulatory changes
  • Provide program management and operational oversight for enterprise Total Rewards initiatives, ensuring alignment with Payroll, HRIS, Finance, and compliance requirements
  • Partner with the Total Rewards Director to implement compensation and benefits strategies through structured project execution and cross-functional coordination
  • Lead and coordinate Total Rewards projects, including system enhancements, policy updates, vendor implementations, and regulatory changes
  • Partner with HRIS and Payroll to support benefit enrollment configuration, accrual program alignment, reporting accuracy, and system governance
  • Develop, monitor, and report Total Rewards operational metrics, audits, and key performance indicators
  • Coordinate retirement plan administration activities with vendors, including Form 5500 support, census reporting, and audit preparation
  • Support implementation and administration of benefit programs including medical, dental, disability, life, retirement, and leave programs
  • Coordinate vendor relationships and support service performance monitoring and issue resolution
  • Support development and distribution of Total Rewards communications, including enrollment materials, handbook content, and caregiver-facing resources
  • Deliver training and guidance to HR partners and leaders regarding benefits, compensation practices, and Total Rewards program processes
  • Support cross-functional committees and initiatives impacting compensation, benefits, leave, and payroll-related programs
  • Assist in monitoring compensation- and benefits-related costs and supporting budget tracking activities
  • Support compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, including ERISA, FLSA, COBRA, FMLA, IRS requirements, and HIPAA
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Each caregiver is responsible for implementing SJRMC's Service Standards into their daily work
