The Production Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the MLS on Apple TV studio programming. The ideal candidate will assist in the creation of video content, graphics, and other production elements, ensuring the highest quality standards are met. This individual should have a passion for soccer, a broad knowledge of the North American soccer landscape, and a collaborative approach to production tasks.

  • Content Research:

    • Write accurate and consistent scripts and shot sheets for talent and production staff.

    • Maintain strong understanding of MLS and North American soccer landscape to contribute story & content ideas to enhance productions.

  • Live Graphics Production:

    • Develop understanding of graphics creation software and best practices.

    • Research, prepare, and implement live graphics as requested by show producers..

  • Video Content Creation:

    • Gather, organize, and distribute video content for assigned production tasks.

    • Work with editors and tape operators to produce highlights, b-rolls, montages, and more for broadcast, digital, and social platforms.

    • Manage video databases and archives to source necessary content.

  • Production Support:

    • Monitor on-air content to ensure accuracy and consistency with production standards.

    • Use social media and other tools to source breaking news, statistics, and storylines.

  • Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with other team members to meet tight deadlines and deliver compelling content.

    • Execute assigned work and proactively assist with needs of production as a whole.

You Have These:

Television Production Understanding

  • Exposure to live television production, ideally in sports

  • Understanding of live television graphics, tape, and/or edit roles

  • Familiarity with edit, rundown, and other production software

Soccer Knowledge & Passion:

  • A passion for soccer and a wide understanding of MLS and its place in the world soccer landscape

Skills and Attributes:

  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred, but not required

  • Excellent collaborative and communication skills

  • The ability to work effectively in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments.

Travel:

Travel may be required for on-site production or event coverage.

Location:

This role is based in Stamford, CT. The candidate should expect to be in the studio 4 days per week. Due to the nature of sports production, weekend work is required.
