Position Description

Wellan Montessori School is seeking an enthusiastic and creative After School Technology & Innovation Teacher to lead engaging enrichment programs for students in grades 1–8. This role is perfect for an educator, technology enthusiast, engineer, maker, or creative problem-solver who enjoys inspiring young learners through hands-on STEM experiences. This is a semester-long position. Classes typically meet once per week between the hours of 3:00–4:30 PM, including prep and clean up. Our teaching rate starts at $45 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead engaging, hands-on enrichment classes in areas such as LEGO Robotics, Coding, 3D Printing, Engineering Challenges, and other STEM-focused topics.
  • Guide students through age-appropriate projects that encourage creativity, problem-solving, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Introduce students to foundational technology and engineering concepts through interactive learning experiences.
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and structured after-school classroom environment.
  • Foster curiosity, confidence, and a growth mindset while helping students develop technical and critical-thinking skills.
  • Prepare materials and equipment needed for each class and ensure proper care and organization of program resources.

Qualifications

  • Background in Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Education, Robotics, Digital Fabrication, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching or working with elementary and middle school-aged children (Grades 1–8).
  • Familiarity with educational technologies such as LEGO Robotics, coding platforms, 3D printers, or similar STEM tools.
