Job description

SAR Academy, a Modern Orthodox, co-educational day school in Riverdale, NY, is looking to fill a maternity leave position for the 2025-2026 school year in our Early Learning Center (Nursery-Kindergarten).
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with grade-level and classroom teams to plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities
- Lead and facilitate small group learning to support individualized instruction and growth
- Contribute to a warm, inclusive classroom environment that fosters curiosity, creativity, and independence
- Partner with co-teachers to carry out daily classroom routines and support students' social-emotional and academic development
- Support classroom needs outside of teaching time, including lunch and recess supervision
Qualifications:
- Ability to build meaningful connections with children and create an environment of mutual respect
- Strong problem-solving and team collaboration skills
- Knowledge of child development of principles in social, emotional and cognitive areas
- Creative, flexible and open-minded approach to teaching and learning
- Demonstrated experience in early childhood classrooms and familiarity with current best practices
