Job description

WTMJ, the NBC affiliate owned by The E.W. Scripps Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is searching for an experienced Creative Services Manager. In this pivotal role, you'll be responsible for creating high-quality marketing content that supports the station's goals and enhances client relationships. You'll assist in overseeing the development and execution of marketing and promotional campaigns, ensuring consistency with the station's brand and strategy, while fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment. If you're a creative leader with a passion for storytelling, strong production skills, and the ability to inspire a team while managing both the creative and logistical aspects of promotional campaigns, we want to hear from you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Provide direction, coaching, and support to ensure the highest quality in news, commercial, and promotional content.
  • Develop and execute creative strategies for television spots, radio ads, digital content, and community event promotions, ensuring alignment with brand identity and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with sales, news, and community outreach teams to create integrated marketing campaigns that drive audience engagement and revenue growth.
  • Maintain consistency in branding and design, ensuring all materials adhere to brand guidelines and reflect the stationโ€™s strategic goals.
  • Supervise the production process from concept to final delivery, overseeing timelines, budgets, and quality control.
  • Identify and implement cross-promotional opportunities, incorporating emerging technologies and trends to enhance content effectiveness.
  • Evaluate and track the performance of promotional campaigns, providing data-driven insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Foster a creative atmosphere that encourages innovation while managing multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
  • Offer feedback and support professional development for team members.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
  • BS/BA in related discipline or equivalent years of experience preferred
  • Generally, 5+ years of experience in related field preferred
  • Prior supervisory experience a plus
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
  • Strong portfolio of effective promotional materials and commercials
  • Proficient in industry-standard production and design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut, Avid Media Composer)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a creative team
  • Strong project management abilities, capable of juggling multiple projects and meeting deadlines
  • In-depth knowledge of media trends, advertising strategies, and community engagement
  • Strong visual storytelling and non-linear editing skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships across departments and with clients
  • Proactive and creative leader with a passion for storytelling, strong production skills, and the ability to manage both the creative and logistical aspects of promotional campaigns
  • May work nights and/or weekends when needed.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to provide proof of insurance with the company-required insurance limits.
