Role Description
We are looking for a hands-on individual to join a small group of creative problem solvers tasked with innovating on Form Energy's iron-air battery technology. In this role, you will collaborate directly with R&D scientists and engineers to test state-of-the-art electrochemical systems. The ideal candidate will be comfortable constantly learning, repeating, and iterating on first-of-a-kind processes with a strong sense for chemical safety, organization, and attention to detail.
What you'll do:
  • Assemble and test experimental electrochemical cells and systems to evaluate new materials, cell designs, and configurations
  • Operate experimental test stands per work instructions and in accordance with all safety standards with minimal daily oversight
  • Perform preventative maintenance on test stands
  • Requisition, inspect, organize, and prepare raw material, components, hardware
  • Support the technical team by stocking, cleaning, and maintaining key consumables and equipment
  • Contribute to rapid learning cycles by sharing scientific observations and recommending process improvements
  • Work with the safety and technical teams to troubleshoot assembly and test issues using good judgement

What you'll bring:
  • 2+ years experience in a chemical laboratory, with mechanical systems, or in a production environment
  • Familiarity with chemical hygiene, hand tools, and basic electrical safety practices
  • Ability to safely and effectively execute lab processes with limited work instructions
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace Applications
  • Ability to occasionally lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work on step stools
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
