ABOUT THE JOB:

Spartina 449 is seeking a seasoned, detail-oriented, motivated, and adaptable Staff Photographer. This is a highly collaborative role and unique opportunity to hit the ground running and make an impact that will change the trajectory of our brand through up-leveled creative, specifically through digital and print marketing for our omnichannel brand. The ideal candidate has a passion for elegant design and lush photography. If you’re a savvy photographer that loves to see your creative deliverables drive business results, this role is for you. You will be working on innovative projects that bring our brand to life and drive it forward.

This role reports to the Associate Creative Director.

This position is based in Spartina 449’s workplace in Old Town Bluffton, SC. The open concept office and photo studio are located in a vibrant small-town marketplace surrounded by local shops, restaurants, bars, and even a weekly farmer’s market—all just minutes from several charming residential neighborhoods.

ROLE SUMMARY:

As our Photographer, you will be responsible for delivering high quality imagery in line with Spartina 449 and aesthetic across all product and model photography.

The candidate will need to be technically sufficient at setting up varied lighting environments, using flash and continuous lighting, in- studio equipment maintenance, file organization, photo tracking, image retouching, guideline adherence, and photography capture, and current with AI and new photography program trends.

Qualifications

• Ability to shoot & style in-studio product photography for handbags, accessories, and jewelry on tabletop.

• Knowledge of shooting apparel on model in studio and in natural light outdoors for a high-end luxury brand.

• Maintaining close coordination with the team and proactively tracking individual photography needs are essential for scheduling shoots effectively and ensuring imagery is delivered on time.

• Ensure the photography adheres to the overall brand direction across all product areas.

• Produce quality work with proper angles, and able to follow directive of each project.

• Must be able to stay updated on industry trends and incorporate fresh ideas for creative innovation and efficiency.

• Taking responsibility for daily set up, including studio lighting and all photography equipment.

• Ability to track and manage all apparel and product photography needed.

• Efficient and effective file naming and organization.

• This can be a fast-paced environment and must be able to operate calmly under pressure.

• Being able to work efficiently is key.

• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.

• MUST provide a portfolio of projects you’ve worked on within the past year.

Responsibilities

• Relevant experience working in an Ecommerce environment.

• Proficient with digital cameras, lighting equipment, studio set-up, on-site lifestyle photography set-up, image retouching, and photo editing softwares (Adobe Suite).

• Must be proficient in one or more of the following Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop, or CaptureOne.

• Experience in set building using props and set design techniques.

• Strong team player, able to work confidently within a team.

• Ability to work well with demanding deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Practical thinker and able to take initiative.

• A true team player with a positive attitude who can rise to creative challenges under tight deadlines and who excels at working both independently and collaboratively.

• You consistently demonstrate a strong luxury-brand photography sensibility, with exceptional attention to composition, image quality, and the creation of polished, sophisticated visual content.

• A professional and approachable demeanor that complements Spartina’s culture, with the interpersonal skills to work seamlessly on set, direct models with confidence and ease, and create a positive, productive shoot environment.
