Position Summary

The Sr. Director, Brand Communications will report directly to the Chief Marketing Officer and is accountable for leading the development, execution, and optimization of integrated PR and Communications strategies across multiple Markwins brands. This individual is responsible for shaping the entire PR and communications strategies across all media channels and ensuring that brand, product messaging, and content across all touchpoints are consistent, compelling, and aligned across every consumer touchpoint.

The Sr. Director will partner closely with the Chief Marketing Officer and cross-functional leaders to develop industry-leading earned media strategies and breakthrough brand campaigns that drive awareness, engagement, and business growth. This role will lead the development of integrated marketing communications narratives spanning PR, Social, Influencer, Paid Media, and Experiential Marketing while establishing best practices, measurement frameworks, and operational excellence across the communications function.

As a senior leader, the Sr. Director will provide strategic direction to internal teams and agency partners, build organizational capability, and ensure communications strategies support broader business objectives and deliver measurable year-over-year growth.

Essential Tasks, Duties, & Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation, measurement, and optimization of integrated communications and PR strategies across multiple brands
• Define the long-term communications vision, priorities, and annual strategic roadmap aligned with business objectives
• Partner with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure communications strategies support enterprise priorities and commercial goals
• Drive the Community Activation strategy across Earned Channels, creating strong integration with Paid Media, Influencer, Social, Experiential Marketing, and eCommerce to maximize earned coverage and business impact
• Create and oversee media materials and social communications, including press releases, media strategies, thought leadership, messaging frameworks, social messaging, editorial calendars, and integrated communications plans
• Own Earned Analytics & Reporting, including influencer campaign KPI tracking and performance optimization
• Lead Earned Media budget planning, forecasting, and investment management
• Stay current on audiences, cultural trends, social media behaviors, platform innovation, and communications best practices
• Establish and drive communications best practices and governance across the brands
• Serve as executive lead for PR agency management and local market communications needs
• Perform other duties as needed and directed by management

Portfolio/Brand Communications

• Own and lead agency relations, RFPs, SOWs adherence, etc.
• Lead the iteration, execution, and maintenance of the portfolio-integrated communications strategy
• Lead Issue Management across all brand touch points including customer service, legal, R&D, social, eCommerce, and sales
• Assess, lead, and optimize all communications agency partners - consumer, corporate, and influencers - establish clear and consistent goals and measurement framework
• Lead each brands’ strategy for earned and paid creator partnerships ensuring an amplified approach to building earned media
• Ideate and innovate 360 campaign planning with integrated marketing teams to reinforce and strengthen consistent brand image for all Brands
• Oversee execution of all corporate and brand strategic initiatives, experiences, and partnerships
• Maximize portfolio brand awareness-building opportunities and drive EMV through product pitching and placement

Influencer/Social

• Build and strengthen each Brands’ presence amongst the influencer community
• Drive a scaled community-building approach
• Own powerhouse influencer relations internally and unlock earned support
• Create paid influencer strategies that build long-term relations with influencers that in turn unlock earned support
• Inspire and encourage dream-big thinking with an “earned” mindset
• Provide a vision and strategy for total brand Influencer & social efforts
• Manage platform relationships and cross-share key learnings & best practices for Social & paid Influencers
• Create and launch guidelines and processes for Brand teams to guide influencer/creator selections, paid media, and content
• Manage and inspire the team, providing creative direction, vision & insights to help shape bigger ideas to support the Brand
• Maintain pulse on Influencer and Social culture to constantly create innovative and disruptive campaigns
• Lead the development and launch of key digital/social influencer engagements, from "always on" programs (e.g., box mailings) to launch campaigns (e.g., paid collaborations/partnerships)
• Lead social content strategy and development of native assets with a focus on video, collaborate closely with Creative Studio to ensure alignment with each individual brands’ look and feel
• Stay abreast and provide updates to leadership on competitive activity, social & influencer trends, and industry best practices
• Establish and maintain close cross-functional working relationships with internal stakeholders and teams to drive consistent campaign messaging and growth

Measurement

• Drive data-led approach to influencer, social, and press
• Oversee analytics, reporting, and building of dashboards or ways of monitoring to share results on the business
• Delivery of monthly business insights, trends, reporting, and action roadmap to leadership and cross-functional partners

Minimum Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, communications, or equivalent combination of education and experience; master’s degree in business marketing or similar is preferred
• 10+ years of progressive experience in Public Relations, Brand Communications, Integrated Marketing Communications, or related fields, including experience leading communications strategy for a multi-brand portfolio
• Thinks strategically and has the ability to translate big ideas into measurable business results.
• Motivated by building culturally relevant brands through integrated earned, owned, and paid communications.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership and align cross-functional teams around shared business objectives.
• Proven success developing and mentoring high-performing teams.
• Strong executive presence and ability to communicate effectively with senior leaders.
• Proven track record of designing and executing successful public relations campaigns at local, national, and global levels.
• Experience acting as a company spokesperson and managing media relationships.
• Experience planning and executing large-scale events and integrated campaigns.
• Proven experience with agency leadership and relationship management.
• Strong experience across social media, influencer marketing, and creator partnerships.
• Experience managing communications budgets, KPIs, and strategic planning.

• Deep understanding of a brand's full customer journey—from awareness and acquisition through engagement, loyalty, and advocacy.
